though most peoples motors go out, or their windows just rattle to all hell...

    mine is pretty ****ed.

there was a huge gap between the window and the sail panel molding all of a sudden.

so i tried adjusting all kinds of stuff. replaced the stabilizer. etc.

i finally got it working good when after i put the door panel back on, it wouldnt move.

one of the rivets popped off the front mechanism (the big gear looking thing) and the guide broke off for the back.

i was able to get the window up and then use the stabilizers to bring the glass inward and it makes a good seal.

but now i cant raise/lower my windows. i almost always drive with them down. good thing its winter.

i suppose the easiest do it yourselfer way to fix this is just get a junkyard door. i might try to find a dealership that'll do it and get a quote though.

A body shop might be a better option.

wait, your window wont roll up so you are replaceing the door? everything inside of the door is a serviceable peice. if you buy a GM door it is just a shell only thing on it is the braces.

considering taking a door off of a car in a junkyard, it should have all of the working parts inside.

at the very least, everything except glass

what i was saying was that you can change every part of the door, why would you replace the whole thing? unless you are going to a you yank it and getting a door for $50.

well i could get a junkyard door for about $120 and get it painted. id still need to mess with some adjustments though.

i dont doubt that everything inside the door is serviceable, which is why im going to get estimates on that work first. id rather have the window repaired than have a door hung/aligned/painted.

i'm going to a dealer on the 3rd to see what they have to say. i'll also check with my body shop.
