Mustang 427

I was right behind this guy who drives a Stang that say 427 on the back and the sides. I started wondering if the engine was 427 cu. or something. There's so many options for Stang that it's confusing.

Anyway, I guess this guy must have noticed I was behind him and decided to nail it. All I got was smoke from his tires. Man that thing was fast.

Went home today and looked it up on the internet. 427 is actually a Stage 3 Roush with a root supercharger that produces 427 hp and 400tq. Get this retail price: $58,959. That's more expensive than the Cobra!! Cobra has more HP than that. :slap:

When I was in Oshkosh this summer I had the chance to go to see (yet another mustang trim, lol) the Roush display. They had 8 of the P-51A Roush Mustangs displayed out there. A plaque in front of the first one read that it was the highest hp Mustang under mass production. A few of the display cars had been bumped up to upwards of 600hp. But the base package starts out around 500hp. Pretty nice car, IMO. And a lot cheaper than that 427. They also had a 45th Anniversary GT500KR up there.

Who cares it's a mustang. Mustangs = crap. GM sports cars = Awesome, Mustangs will never be at Corvette's level of performance, they should just give up. There was a mustang prototype a couple years ago (Liverneous Mustang?) with over 700hp and the 505hp Z06 was faster. I'd rather have a Japanese tuner car (as long as it's not a fwd one) than a mustang

Well whether you like Stangs or not you do have to respect it. It is after all an American Legend. Besides, if it wasn't for the Mustang the Camaro and Firebird might not have been around.

fadetoblack you're an idiot:slap:. The first gen mustangs were amazing but after around 1970 they went to **** and have pretty much stayed there. The 427R sounds good but it really looks riced out. I give it credit for being fast but who cares about that when Hyundai has a sedan that hangs with a Boxter. Mustangs are just as common as minivans and that takes away from even the Roush ones. I see dozens of them everyday and it really gets old. Plus the reason they stopped making the TA and Camaro is because Ford made crappier cars than Pontiac and Chevy and sold them way cheaper and most people bought the cheaper and uglier car.

no, you are an idiot, big deal a 400hp car can "hang" (loose term here since its not exactly true anyways) a car that does 14 flat to 13.8. last time i checked, lt1s and 2 valve new edge mustang gts can do that. the 3v s197s would mop the floor with the genesis and the boxter.

so before you go popping off big claims why dont you inform yourself and quit making dumbass remarks that hold no truth.

I like my Trans am and all the other F-bodies that I have owned. If you hate driving a as you put it "SH1TTY CAR" then why dont you get a new one??

I have owned mustangs also and prefer the F-body over the mustang. Yes the Mustang is a better everyday car for most people but for me and a select few I like the feel of the F-body. I prefer my sports car to feel like a sports car and not like my wifes Hyndai elantra!! The mustang is a good car but it feels too much like every other car out there. I like getting into my car and knowing its a F-body just from the feel of it. Kinda the same way you know the feel of a Corvette, or 300zx.. when I drive a mustang it has no special feel to it. It just feels Like a normal car. That is why it killed the F-body. That is also one of the reasons why I dont own one anymore!
