  • Just Bought a 1998 SS

About a month ago, I bought a black 1998 Camaro SS for $6,700. It has 75,000 miles and in beautiful condition. The guy who owned it before put a Yank Racing SS3600 Stall, Subframe Connectors, SLP Loudmouth, and an unknown shift kit in it.

Unfortunately, I had to sell my 98 V6 Camaro to pay for it, but god damn, am I happy, lol.

And this is in general tech why?

Anyways, awesome buy man. I looked around not too long ago for a LS1 and couldn't find anything under $7000; $9000 for something that wouldn't need any work!

I bought my '96 Black Z28 6 speed with 78k on it for $6000. Of course I knew the guy and I offered cash, but damn I am happy with the deal I got. Nice SS you got their man, enjoy that V8!

Well, Im finally accepting the fact that the tranny slips. On a cold morning, it will never shift into 4th from 3rd, it will just slip out of gear and coast.

:( no wonder it was so cheap.

That sucks. Looks like you may be looking at a re-build. I'd question the previous owner about it. Still worth it though. Nice car. Get the trans beefed up while you're at it. Probably be anywhere from $1500-2,000 depending on who does it.
