i wouldnt say its not worth it if he wants a project. hell you can pick up a full lt1 long block for 800 bucks. but then again, for a few 100 bucks more you can find one with similar mileage and less issues.
thats y i say that its not worth it. U can find LT1s cheap and im sure for a little more he could find something with less problems and less miles
87 Firebird RIP

94 Patriot Red 1LE Z28 - Sold
02 WS6 TA - Sold
I think the only real difference was the 10 Horsepower that the 96 and 97's got compared to the earlier years. 93-95 = 275, 96-97 = 285. I have a '96 Z28 and am happy with it, but of course then one you're going after looks like it needs some work...I wouldn't spend that kind of money on something with all the problems it seems to have.
I really like the look of the older style headlights (the 4 rectangular light setup) over the new "molded" lights. When they first came out in I wanted to buy one. The one I looked at was Red with the Black mirrors and black roof section along with t-tops. Unfortunately money was tight back then and it did not happen.
But I still like the 93-97 Camaro body style over the 98+.
