  • Stock 3.8l torque?

    Hey guys,
My brother is trying to argue with me that his 98 v6 camaro has 300ft/lb of torque. After all it does say it has 300 in his owners manual. Does anyone know why? I find it kinda odd that his v6 has 40 less torque than my z28.

The 3.8's have 200HP and 225 lb/ft of torque at the crank.

well thats interesting...I dont have a page that even looks like that in my manual...

                must be a misprint...should read 225 torque

its one of the last pages in the manual. I guess now I get to rub it in his face. :)

Even the cc's are different for the v8 in my book. Thats just wierd. I guess the only way to prove it is to get it on the dyno :)

Im gonna go check and see what it says in my manual.

                            What year is your z28?

                            They produced a 3.4l from 93-95.

Also, these numbers are at the crank.
