  • possibly selling my car to get a new toy

Hey guys Im probably going to be selling my car and trading in my trck to get a new toy. I know what it KBB and Nada's for, but how much do you guys think I could get out of it? Check out my cardomain for pics and mods www.cardomain.com/id/firehawknwv Im thinking I could get around 10k for it cuz its in great shape. The paint job is just a year old and just has a few nicks in it from rocks and such. Nothing is mechanicaly wrong with the car at all. Im going tomorrow or sometime this week to crunch numbers on it to see for sur wut my payments will be on the new toy. I will also have numerous parts that havent been put on the car I will be selling seperately such as AR stage 3 heads and ported intakes.

Now the new toy I am considering getting is a Challenger SRT/8 . I was gonna wait for the new Z28's to come out but I went and looked at a fully loaded black on black Challenger and fell in love with it. So this will proly happen after the 1st of the year.

Well guys let me know wut you think....

its worth 10k...but 10k seems unlikely because ive seen 98-02 t/a's with less the 60k go for 9 or 10 grand. Car looks amazing btw and you put some serious work into it. Good luck with the sale!

    black on black srt8

I might be interested in those heads........

While you have all those mods done to the car and if I were looking for a sports car such as a Firebird, I would not buy that one. While you know you've taken care of it and meticulously done all this stuff, those mods push me away from it. I would rather have a stock car and do them myself and I'm sure some people feel the same way. You could probably got 10k from the right person, but I would be looking at more of a 8k price range...Your range of people is also narrowed down. In my town I see older people driving V6 Firebird/Camaros all the time and they are stock. They will not want one with all the stuff done to it and the are a good target for our cars, believe it or not.

Your car is nice don't get me wrong, but you do have to take into consideration all these things.

          $8k.

If you aren't in any hurry to sell it, list it for 10 and see if you get any bites.

What kind of mileage is on it anyway?

Don't forget the economy right now either. I don't think too many people are running out to buy a sports car.

Sweet deal on the Challenger. Again, new car sales are way down, so don't let them d*ck you over on that price. Low ball the sh*t out of them.

Looks like an old mans car from the back huh Kristen, lol.

Well guys Im not even sure Im gonna do this so nothing is in stone yet. I just put it to thought and gonna see what happens. The car has 75k on it give or take a few miles. If I do go an do this then I will try to low ball there butts so they dont try and screw me.

i test drove a challenger r/t with a six speed. that car wasnt too bad. its pretty quiet inside, even when you floor it. since the drivers seat is a power seat, its a hastle when someone sits behind you because the only way to move your seat forward is with the switch, and you would have to readjust the seat to your setting.

The Challenger SRT8's are nice. Got to sit in a few and test drive one a couple months back. But do watch out for orange peel in the paint. All the ones we saw had horrible orange peel in the factory paint. Unfortunately that's a problem with a lot of new cars today. But some are worse than others. Might want to keep that in mind if you're meticulous about the paint condition and appearance.

Only issue I have with the Challenger is that the stock rims/tires are way too skinny! I like more of what the new Z06 Vette has, which is some nasty tire width laid down.

I think you'd be lucky to get 8k for it. Right now is not a right time to sell a car, but its not gonna be better any time soon so if you're looking to sell might as well post an ad in craigslist and see.

Because its a new car, less things to maintain and overall just a better ride. Performance wise they do lack....but the 6.1L could respond well to some bolt-ons...cant wait to start seeing some modded challengers

I dont have many problems with the car itself. I do wish it had wider tires in the rear as kind of mentioned before. Yea Im sure they will do well with a few boltons. If I get one I prob wont mod it much to start off but an exhaust and an intake cuz its got enough for me to start off with for a while.

You dont want to void the factory warranty with bolt ons though. Im pretty sure intake is fine, but exhaust.....idk
