      really.

no offense, but are you deaf?

im not sure how someone couldnt be able to tell the difference between a loud exhaust, and the tone of the exhaust
Well, first off you can't be deaf READING a post. Second, I can tell the difference. But you are the one that apparently is "deaf". You bring up the engine, then you go to the exhaust and so on and so forth. If you want to argue about something, please read your previous posts and stick to that topic. It's not that I dont understand what you're talking about, but you're losing your reasoning behind everything you are trying to say.

i have no idea what you are talking about.

i came into this thread saying they sound like crap, and i have never said anything other than that, i dont know what spaceland you are floating around in.

and im sorry, but you need to learn how things work, let me explain it to you:

BOTH the engine AND the exhaust play a role in how it sounds. v10 or v12 engines will be higher in pitch due to their smaller cylinder bores, but the v12 seems to be a more balanced engine and not sound as horrible.

the exhaust of the car can add a specific tone to it, or can make it quiet or loud, but it will not make a ****ty sounding car sound better.

just for you, i will go through all of my posts and explain them to you so you can understand what im trying to say.. just give me a few minutes here

ok, in this post i am trying to say that i think vipers sound like crap. if someone were to put a corvette engine underneth a viper body you would instantly be able to tell due to the sound of the v8

so in this one im still trying to say the viper doesnt sound good. i go on to say that i think some of the people's v6 camaros on this website sound better than the viper does.

last time i passed a viper i thought there was a motorcycle following me or something before i realized it was the viper
this one should be pretty self explanatory.. but just in case it isnt for you, one time i was driving, and a viper passed me and it sounded like a motorcycle.

ok, see, like i explained before, i wasnt talking about the or loudness of the exhaust, i was talking about the eound the engine makes THROUGH the exhaust, and it doesnt sound good

the only thing i care about is the actual noise of the exhaust

most 4 cylinders and v6's sound like crap.. I6 engines arent too bad, the jeep sounds nice, but then again the skyline sounds a little ricey.

v8's sound awesome.. the v10's sound like pure crap (or maybe it is just the viper.. i havent really heard other v10's other than them), and the v12's usually have an exotic tone
yes, like i just said, there is a difference between how loud an exhaust is and what its tone is, the exhaust system quiets the engine noise down, and also adds a specific tone to it. although the exhaust adds a tone, that tone isnt going to make the noise the engine is producing any better, im sorry i may have used the term "noise" out of context, i see how you could mistake it for how loud it is.

this sounds almost exactly like a cammed out v6 camaro

now come on. excuse the crappy quality/sound, but what sounds better, that viper or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IePo1...eature=related
          yeah, i posted two videos..

there is a HUGE difference between engine sound/exhaust tone, and how loud an exhaust is.

i said that i dont care if the exhaust is loud or quiet, but the tone of the vipers engine sounds like pure crap
this is about the 10th time i have said this, and im not gonna do it again.

i think its lame. you would look like a poser, like owners of lambo kit fieros. they might be clean, legit looking but it still not the real deal.

Re: Viper kit on a Corvette platform

I think the main point of this thread though is that Vipers really do sound like crap....

The true dual exhaust and side pipes on the car pretty much limit it to 5 cylinders spouting flames out each side of the car..... It's two 5 cylinder engines with no exhaust restrictions, running at the same RPM making the same noise in two different places. It's like a special needs clinic with 10 kids standing back to back in a line 5 deep, all screaming the theme song to Sponge Bob Square Pants.

The car itself is like a hot chick with a horrible laugh and a nasaly voice. You wanna get inside and go for the ride of your life but you know she's gonna make horible noises whenever you start to push it.

Having said all that, cool kit.

i think its a pretty cool kit... and its for c4 vettes which would make it pretty cheap to do.... and it would definitly improve the looks of the c4... if it comes out as good as the pictures that the site claims are really the kit...

only car nuts would know that it sounds like a v8 instead of the real 10.... im sure no normal person would know the difference....
