sound garden cd

so my brother in law and I were looking at some old school cds. I pulled the soundgarden cd and was going to burn a copy. He told me when the cd was first released in 1994, he jumped out and purchased the cd.

so whats the deal with a sound garden cd you ask?

The cd is blank... yeah, blank. Its one of the original cds that was put out for purchase when the album was originally released. its not a copy, its a REAL Sound Garden cd the music company released back in 1994 that NEVER had anything on it.

So lets say your a DIE hard sound garden fan and you have money.. This is like a mis-printed US mint coin...

Do ya think its worth anything? He said he didnt take it back because he thought it was different, and just couldnt toss it out. He said he wouldnt sell it, but as I am, curious if its even worth anything... its just not any sound garden cd, its one of the first released albums that was released to public in 1994

so I ask, what do ya think it would be worth? Who would one contact to ask? to record company?

Like I said, he isnt selling, just curious..

He's f'ing with you. No record company would release that CD. Sonds like a joke to get you to buy it. He must own a fly-by-night auto insurance company too.

If it was a mistake by the record comany, you'll have a hell of a time proving it.

Yes Im serious. it is blank... you look under a cd, you can see the burn marks, this has nothing on it. its an actual cd with cover art and all.. no music. in the player, nothing, says no cd detected.

no im not scamming anyone. its not for sale. its not going to be for sale.... if you would of read the whole damn thing you would of saw that.

but yeah. crazy isnt it. I didnt think it would be worth anything, but again, britney spears underwear went for thousands on ebay...

I think it would be worth almost nothing, because in reality someone can make a blank cd with the cover art on it.

thats true...

though he isnt looking to make money off of it, nor do we really think it would be worth alot if anything...

its just one of those RARE things that are produced, that there is someone out there that would pay alot for it just to have it.

Its the real deal, not just a blank cd with perfectly printed art on it. every disk produced has a serial number imprinted on it. I just think its interesting. contacted a buddy of mine at a local radio station here, told him about it, he ran down here just to see it and try it out himself. he offered my brother in law $100 for the disk. needless to say he declined.. lol

its just one of those things that NO ONE hears about... I have an original local newpaper I found in our attic with hitler dead on the headlines. worth anything, probably not, but there are people out there that would pay a few bucks for it just to have it.

Hell, I remember coming back from Iraq having a few thousand in dinar, worthless and in american standards its not worth that much to the US dollar. people were spending hundreds of $$$ for a worthless Iraqi dinar. I keep the things I have found or like the dinars I have for my children, Im kinda a history buff and Im trying to take those things and pass them down... corny I know, but its intersting things.

Just like the Camaro, 20 years from now our camaros will be worthless.. but its apart of history, a part of us, and something we would like to pass down.. in my mind, thats priceless..
