            The ? was what do YOU like better, when someone responds just take their choice and leave it at that, don't start to say the LS1 is god, if so why are you on a 3800 forum. I prefer my v6, once it has a turbo(sometime in the future) and running nitrous(current 125 wet) It will be a great car, not saying it isn't already. Right now if I wanted to I could buy a LS2 engine and auto tranny , Tub. K( to match my tub A arms , headers, and add the HPtuners licsene on my cable. Plus have everything installed for about 11,000, I choose not to because I like my 3800, my choice. You guys need to get off the LS1's d!ck and put some money into a 3800, there are plenty of people running 12's and 11's with them. Thats plenty for a DD, and to take out to the track now and then.

              The 3.8L by far...



              I mean come on, even though...

              -they pretty much weigh the same
              -the Ls1 has more hp
              -the ls1 has more torque
              -The Ls1 has bigger aftermarket
              -The ls1 I feel gets for the most part better gas mileage
              -The ls1, i think has more room to work then a v6, other then the front. But it seems slightly lower. I mean hell to get the back intake manifold bolts on a 3.8L the wrench barely fits.
              -the Ls1 sounds better



              Only advantage of the 3.8L its kind of easier cheaper to find stuff.

                  It's ricer math because it hp/ci numbers don't mean a ****ing thing in terms of what car is faster than another car, or which performs better. It's just a meaningless number that little boy-racers, who run their mouth more than their car, throw around in a vain attempt to intimidate others

                        I guess some people just like 3.8's , look at TurboV6, he could have bought 2 ls1's for what he has in his car, Linx probably 3 LS1's and Tease probably 4 LS1's and a big bag of chips. I could have bought about 2 LS1's for the money I have put into mine. If you don't like your 3800 then sell it and get a LS1.

                              Really? Name 2 V6 cars that, in the last 6 months, have made significant progress...and I mean, going from stock internals to cam-only/heads&cam, or going from NA to boosted or sprayed...not just talking about it and making grocery lists of parts.

                              ok, every LS1 f-body in existance, with a decent driver, can do that right off the showroom floor.

Pick whatever engine you want for whatever reason...but, if you're going to try and pull the "might equals right" card in favor of the 3.8, you're going to lose every time. It's not a personal preferance or whatever...just a matter of comparing numbers and performance

                                to each his own fellas...i drive an ls1 and DD my 3800 that i'm in the process of modding, each car has its ups and downs...if you want pure displacement and a better power to weight ratio---go ls1, if you want a well rounded sportscar that's a little more tame go 3800. If one were completely superior there would only be one engine to choose from anyway.

                                personally i love the raw power of the ls1 but there's nothing better than modding a seemingly average car (the 3.8) into a powerhouse, that's why i have both.
