basically it can be when rain/water freezes or snow melts then freezes and becomes ice on the road. Ice is clear so it blends in with the pavement, hence black ice because you can barely see it. Very slippery, can cause spin out/accidents. Look it up on youtube and you'll see how bad it can get. Had it very bad here like 2-3 weeks ago.
So that's why the guy in the Ford truck was facing traffic and against the wall on an over pass in downtown Houston a couple of weeks ago, LOL. I know what it is, just sunny and 65 here. Messing with you guys. Glad the person driving the car is ok and nobody got injured.
I don't know what helps in this crap. I can't stand it.
Once last year, as usual I had to be at work at 6 in the morning.. It had snowed insanely bad and the plows hadn't even gotten to it. Lucky me. I was going 5-8 mph and tried to stop at a red light with a good 30 yards before I got to the light. Flew right through it. ABS going crazy and all. Luckily it was so early no one else was even in sight. It was the only time I ever turned around and went home while trying to get to work. Sometimes there's absolutely nothing you can do.

I did that exact same thing a week or two ago. I was driving like 3 blocks down the road my school is on to go buy some beer. Slid straight through the light. I kept going and bought the beer though.
