so i cruisin down I64 east today with the ttops off in the firebird. thought everything was goin well and then bang. i notice my speed dropping very fast. the motor just smoked and then would not start. what the hell could cause that? checked everything over before i left like i always do, and didnt know what happen. so im looking for a new motor or block. so hit me up

Sorry to hear that, How many miles did you have on it ? A4 or M5? Any mods done to it? Or engine work lately? Was your engine temp in the red? Did you blow a water hose line or anything like that? Just trying to see what happened, is there water in your oil or oil in your radiator anything like that? The motor might be fine could be something else. has a little over 114,000 miles. stock a4 T/A. everything was was normal. the fuel pump was just replaced last oil change. car will not crank over. so yeah car is parked at work so ill drop the oil pan on mondayComment

yea thats weird...maybe a head gasket went and took out the engine? should be coolant in the oil then maybe?...should not just blow up without a reason...let us know what you find...sorry to hear that

welcome to the club. i was cruizing down county rd 64 today and noticed i had no power...and little to no oil pressure...got home, and the oil is milky...sad day for birdsTeam NoVa

Do you still run DexCool in the car? That's why my motor blew out last year. DexCool ate through a gasket, and rusted the block to hell.
I ate a bowl of fail this morning.
