    So, like the title says i need help finding a laptop suitable for what i want it for. I am in the marines and am in afghanistan and dont have much time to be online, and the lines are so slow that i dont really have access so surf around looking for what i want. So if anyone knows of some good deal or anything the help would be appreciated.

    I am looking for a gaming laptop that i will be able to play WoW, music, get on FB and surf around the net at the same time with no probs. I have not had a new comp in years, and the last one i had was a desktop i built.

    Things i am looking for in it are;

    -be able to have it for years and still be able to play new high-demand games
    -around 1500$, give or take a few hundred

    when i get back to the states it is going to but hooked up to my 24" westinghouse monitor, and am going to use a diff. mouse ad keyboard so the screen, mouse, and keyboard are not big things i will be loooking for. Also i am going order an external HD and keep everything on it, so the HD does not have to be very big.

    Usually i would enojy looking around for this kinda stuff, but i dont really have the time here, and i want to have it before i get home... possibly have it sent to my FPO here along with a few games to keep me busey. So if anybody has some suggestions or know of good online deals, please help me out.

        i bought a dell vostro 1510 for under $600 and you can run all of those programs easily... I would just buy a mid level laptop and then buy another one in a year or 2. They become outddated so quickly. Go to www.techbargains.com and look on there

            nothing wrong with dell computers. its the dell tech support. Im a dell portable, desktop certified tech... ( I do not work for dell ). but I use my certs so I can say, "yeah I can fix it" without anyone getting ****ty that I dont have that piece of paper... Now I wouldnt buy the new Dell RED!. yeah some of the money goes to a charity, but a majority of it goes over seas to africa for some other profit thing... ifs its not for the states, screw it I say anymore.

            if your looking for gaming and netting.. then you'll want something with a good video card with atleast a 1/2 gig video card, a good gaming chip, and built in wifi (which most have now adays). Sony, 'some' dells, panosonic "tough book", or even a toshiba would be fine. your best bet would be at your local best buy, PX, or circuit city. you can call some of the computer dealers and have them build one for ya, but they try to sell ya crap you really dont need...

            all in all, get a laptop with the best video card/ graphics memory you can afford. $1500 will go along way for gaming so you should be fine. I'm still not a vista fan, but finding a new laptop with XP pro will be a challenge to find as most manufactures dont install it anymore.

            and remember, its not the name of the computer.... its the cheap computers people buy for a few hundred bucks and ***** because it doesnt run as good as a new computer should. "you get what you pay for". and cheap porn sites kill your computer unless you have a GREAT firewall and anti virus, spam software.
