I was in my Garage putting my console in, installing my new Aereo-Force gauge, did some touch up painting in the engine bay and the cowl. I must of had the doors open for about 3 hours or so. Tried to start the car and it wouldn't start my battery went dead, so I put a charger on it, got it started and let in run with the garge door cracked about 5" and had a fan on high speed blowing out the exhaust fumes. So I sat in the car messing with the new gauge ,checking out the features and do some programing on it, must have lost track of time because I fianlly heard a bang on my front door when I shut the car off. It was a guy who lived down the street walking by to the mail box. I answered the door and he said " Is everything alright , I smelt the exhaust fumes from the street when I was walking by and tried banging on the garage door, rang the door bell and knock on the door and no one answered so I was worried someone was in trouble so I called the Police to come and check it out. He was a older guy who was a Retired Phoenix cop who worked Homicide for over 20 years, " Goes I seen alot of stuff when it comes to people and running cars in there garages" I just laughed. I had a old DOC(Dept. of Corrections) shirt on and he asked me if I still worked for them , I said no, I worked 7 years for them, then work at T-Bird hospital as a Pysch Tech for 4 years(worst job ever) then went through the police academy and ended up with a stroke soon after with some birth defects of the heart and back. I had my cane with me so he was surprised, asked if I broke my leg or something. Just like everyone else they are surprised. This is why I like to stay home and not go any where feel like a gimp and can't talk right do to my stroke and meds so I don't like talking to people.
So after about 15-20 mins the police came told them what happened, and the one guy who was the FTO had a 5ft 3" about 100lbs woman with him who he was training.LOL The funny thing is I knew him from the police Academy he graduated before me in class 49 and I was in 50. Cool guy talked for a little bit and they left. I think our neighbor hood is a great one compared to our last one, every buddy seems to look out for one another and are real nice , the guy across the street is a Sheriffs Deputy and he was in class 37 , we talked for alittle bit one day. So there is alot of cops and ex-cops on in our neighbor hood which is pretty cool. I feel alot better in this community, no gang bangers hanging out in front of there houses and no kids messing with anything. So far all the neighbors I have talked to, which is about 9 all say the same thing were glad you moved there, because I guess the people befoe were pretty bad and had 5 kids running around causing trouble. So that was my day.
