gonna blow chit up huh..

i wasnt a jarhead, but 13 weeks of bct is 13 weeks of bct.
1) dont take anything personal
2) dont take ANYTHING personal
3) eat right
4) start busting out 20-30 push ups every night
5) dont take anything personal
6) I wouldnt say go out and run a few miles unless you can, but take a jog around the block once or twice every other day
7) dont be all gun-ho
8) sit back and listen, step up if you have to (dont be noticed right away) they will make an example out of ya
9) go in and have fun in training.

training has its moments (alot) that really does suck. but to tell ya the truth, i'd go back into BCT any day. get up in the morning is hard at first if your not used to it, but in a week or 2 you'll get used to it. you have to use your brain ... work as a team. if people start giving you **** (trainees/ enlistees.) ignore them. you do not want to get into it with the people you bunk with. Dont go in with a temper or a hot head. if your like that, think about going to school for underwater basket weaving and stay out of the military. The whole "they want killers" dont imply anymore. its about working as a team, and coming home as a whole (what ya went out with).

dont take anything with you, you'll never see it again. (when you go to training). other than what you are asked to take. first day - SUCKS.. .there is alot of yelling but they yell so EVERYONE can hear and they are establishing authority. there are going to be times when you say to your self or others "what the hell is going on"? relax its normal. its to weed out the people who watch too much military TV and war movies.. Some people actually think its all about running and gunning... Its alot more than that..

all I can say, keep your head straight, and do what your told. If the DS or Drill instructors I guess in your case didnt tell you to do it... DONT do it. no matter if you think you'll get away with it or not... its not worth it.

Just have fun.. once you get into your engineer classes.. things get alot better. (freedom).

watch the first half of Full Metal Jacket a crap load of times.

My older bro was in for 6yrs. One day we were watching the vid of hiboot camp, then watched mine, and was liek "wtf? did you go to summer camp or something?" yes, there was THAT much diff between the two. AF basic might be more involved now than it was in 93, i dunno. Good Lick i whatever you choose.

af boot is a camp trip.. eggs and steak, riding bikes in an ac controlled room.. gawd wish my basic was that light... but ya'll have more HIGH TECH classes to take, but still.. really??? haha..

though I have to give it to them. when the bombers stopped dropping, the navy didnt stop pounding baghdad while we were on the outskirts of town. lol nothing is freakier than hearing a rocket zipping past ya you hear it, and its GONE!
