so im selling a guitar amp on craigslist for 625 and got an email from a scammer. well i couldn't just ignore this so i sent the basic info, name, address, etc. and get the bs emails from them about the overpayment crap. Well guess what came to me today!!!! a fraudulent payroll style check for 1950!:banana: It was sent overnight from California. So im left here with this sweet keepsake check and there out however much an overnight from California to Missouri cost and the time it took to do this. LMFAO!

no, it is an actual payroll check, it has watermarks and everything. it is something that a business should be able to purchase and print out for their employees. this is a real check that i can cash... but it will bounce just like Tom rs said. how the scam works is i am supposed to cash this (and it will) then wire a refund to whoever. then a few days goes by this bad boy bounces and out comes the total amount from my account. ya see what im sayin?

i got one of thoes fro $6000 for my old car and was thinking i should find some illegal mexican and pay him the $200 it take to get a new fake id and have him cash it under that. Somehow with the IDs they get the social security number works to cash checks. and all he would have to do after is throw away the ID
