the heat sink.. they installed some dumb *** double X on the bottom and its too close to the mother board. you take those out, add some washers and longer bolts, clean everything out. I add a higher output fan (cost like $15) turn it on, reset it, then turn it back on. and the ROD is gone...
Now they changed their design, they added some cooling gel glue crap on it to help pull the heat from the chip. I havent had a problem with mine, but it does void your warranty. but once they fix it, the wont do it for free again. parts to fix it isnt expensive at all and normally takes anywhere from 15 mins to 30 mins pending if you installed the fan or not.
but it beats sending yours out and having them do a half *** job. I sent mine in didnt get it back for 3 months, then they just sent me a referb which pissed me off because I bought my 360 new and they send me back a used rehab 360??? so after 8 months it died again, so I went online and did a research to get it fixed, and I did.

The kit comes with some silver rub crap. you use it to take the shine off the chip. look it up on youtube. Type ROD and you'll see what I mean. they sell the kits on ebay cheap, but you will need the tool to take the thing apart. its a few bucks

I'm still trying to figure it all out, too. Lol. Turns out the thing I was most worried about (controller layout) has been the easiest part yet.
