I've been laid off since Thanksgiving of last year. I've been living off my savings and unemployment and so on. After months of looking for a job I finally found one this week. I'm going to be working as an Admission Rep. for this private college that specialize on Nursing and Pharmacetical.
Ok, here's the Irony - the position was offered to me today since I past my physical, drug test, and background check, which I took on Tues. I was excited and thankful. I even went to Church today to give thanks.
Three hours later after the position was offered to me a manager from this engineering company called me and offered to hire me as their designer and coordinator. They specialize on civil engineering and they are the ones responsible for putting up stop lights on the the streets.
The pay is the same, but the location is less than 5 miles from where I live vs. 35-37 miles with the other one. And I always wanted to work for them, but I already gave my word to the other one. The manager of the school already set up my office and is looking forward in having me work for her. I spoke to the owner too. Very nice people.
The engineering manager who interviewed me on Jan. said he always wanted to hire me, but he's been very busy in getting back to me on it. I ended up turning him down and when I told him the situation, he was flabbergasted. Aaahhh NUTS!!
