I'm going insane. Money is holding me back right now...I've pulled the top end off my firebird for the most part..I'm just waiting to take the heads off for when I get my new rockers and pushrods. All my rockers ended up loose...except cylinder 3 and barely cylinder 5. and Cylinder 2 has profound markings on the actual pushrod where it looks like it's been hitting stuff inside.
hopefully none of my valves are bent. that's pretty much the only thing I don't want to replace...is the valves. I had the motor pulled apart down in 2 1/2 hours...and then I am stuck waiting for money to roll in. bleeeeh....
I'm just looking at a mild work over,
1.9:1 roller rockers whole package dealio. =)
w/ some ( I'm looking at Crow Cams )105# valve springs...unless you think the 105# springs is a bit much for the lightly modded engine...
I'm gonna get a tune and probably some more injectors...
and seriously considering putting off the car a little longer just to finish my exhaust off with a set pacesetter headers....
I dunno guys...I dunno...Someone told me if I didn't have the cash for headers, try and get some tubular manifolds and try having them ported out for flow...But I just doooon't know....
AHHHH I want my car back. =o
Edit: The reason I'm taking the heads off..the vehicle has 220k miles and still has the original unblown headgasket...I'm just replacing all the gaskets now so I won't have it back together and then a week later the headgaskets finally blow or something.
