Worst sound from a GTO

I just got back from the car wash, had mine hand washed/waxed. I was waiting outside watching them and all of a sudden I hear this car with a awful sound reving his engine while pulling in. I thought it was a civic or some import he rounds the corner where I can see the front, some young kid and it is a GTO. He drives by and revs it again , I here the rice sound and pop, pop, pop, pop boom as he drove up in the line down about 300 ft away. I then noticed he had a single exhaust with a huge tip slanted to the drivers side, like a civic. From the looks it was a 04' and manual tranny from how he reved it, backfired and popped. There was about 10-15 people outside waiting for cars and about half, I could see having a smerk or laughing. It looked stock except for the exhaust tip, I actually felt sorry for him and if my car hadn't been done, I wanted to go ask him why he would do that to a LS1 engine. I mean I have heard some LS1 GTO's and they can sound mean not a F'ning Civic sound COME ON. It's a sad day for me now, I can't get that sound out of my head:(

follow him, steal the ride cut the pipe @ the cat, and force him to replace it... Its unamerican to let it go...

Tell him to take that OBX crap off his car and put a real muffler on that thing if you see it again.

I saw a newer Mustang GT like that a couple months ago. Those things sound pretty good stock and can sound amazing with the right muffler. But some kid had put some god-awful exhaust on it and it sounded like ****. Worse than some of the raspiest 3.8s I've heard. He had modded it to look like the Shelby, but that sound killed it.

I guess I could of hit him with my cane and drove off in it. But I wouldn't want to be seen in something like that. Coat hanger, rag and a lighter would of done the trick.

The V6's on here with flowmasters sound 1 million times better than that car did.

yeah theres one around me that kinda reminds me of that...extremely loud but very high pitched too! i think hes got a custom x-pipe giving it that higher sound

I tell you, as the price of the used GTO's have dropped, so has the quality of the ricers - er, drivers... ;)

It was like that but pointed out to the drivers side at a angle , like a import.LOL

Gotta love it when they have the single fart cannon angled up. :rolleyes:

Once had a suby blow a bunch of carbon buildup onto the nose of my car like that.

I can beat that. Hot rod mag had an article where so moron put a supra turbo motor into a original 68 RS/SS camaro. Talk about killing the value of a camaro.
