so, remeber that issue i had with my car? the squealing went away, and became a knock... :tdown:
took it to a few shops and they say its terminal... rod knock... :(

so, i have a few options and not much cash. Rebuild current engine, replacement engine, or try and sell/trade it for a new car.
this sucks...

i would love to get a V8 guys.. but i don't have money for an LT1/LS1, tranny, PCM, suspension, crossmemeber, ect.

Id build up another 3.8 internally and then when its done, use all your accessories and other externals you already have and put it on that one...

if you gota grand and a month to spare, rebuild yours. then you can get another 1-200k out of it.

id say look for a low mileage used engine and start building your old one if the block isnt trashed, i picked up my 99 3.8 with 100,000 miles on it fully dressed from the a/c to the p/s pump and wiring harness for 250.00

Just pick up another engine and save yourself some money. I'm sure you can get a good V6 for 350 or less.

In a few weeks, I'll have an engine to get rid of ('96 3.8L). Replacing mine and went with another to build till I was ready to do the switch.

Just price it out... anycar can be fixed just have to ask yourself is it worth it to you to fix it.

My Car died, I was lookign to put a new motor in, I figured cost all together was going to be like $700-$1k realistically for a used mid level mile motor(like 50k) and associated parts going into the car. (yes someones brothers, cousins roomates has got a 3.8L for $20 and a 6pack)


Mine wasnt worth it. To me... sold my car as a roller for $2k, way more then I thought I was going to get, but I had some goodies on it. And got a new car.
