The mechanic that did a total rebuild on my with bigger cam and forged pistons,l32 rods,clev. 77 bearings etc. did it in 8 hours, taking it out of the car, and putting it back in. He has his own track car he races on the weekends so he quick on rebuilds. That is using a lift though too. great job on yours I know it would take me a week or 2 to do what you just did. Any upgrade mods done to it? Or a stock replacement , I can see the springs, did you you get the modded retainers for them I hope?

what real performance gains or 0.001 seconds of a quarter mile time r u gonna get from buying a more expensive one?

what intake is that flamin? and i just did my engine too takin it out the top, man that was a pain but what with the lack of space and all, was my only choice. what headers r those? and lastly im using the same fram oil filter and water pump

id love to use K&N oil filters all the time since there only 4 or 5 dollars more but the parts stores here suck at keeping them in stock. ive used almost every brand and ive never had a problem out of fram...hell i just had a bosch oil fliter blow off my lincoln because the one way check valve was installed backwards!!!! now theres a 5 foot oil stain in my parking lot from 5.5 quarts of oil.......EVERY brand will have problems, ive had 2 K&N filters on my mustang have the nut break off while trying to remove them and i ended up getting them both off by hand, they wernt that tight just bad welds.

Thats a fram oil filter I think he was refering to, not K&N . I hope he is just using it to break it in with some cheap oil, then use a good filter and oil, thats what I would do.

thats insane, i could rebuild the engine in a short time, but not take it out.. although i have never taken an engine out of a 4th gen before

i would break it in with some dino oil, then switch to synthetic.. but thats just a personal preference.. the only real break-in needed for a roller cam engine is to put a load on it to seat the rings, and do a few quick oil changes to get the metal particles out

ive always used fram....ive had nothing but problems out of all of them except K&N.

uhh your engine will last longer..

by the time you engine would be damaged my a wal-mart oil filter, you'd prob wanna rebuild anyway. drove the hell out of my car on track and street w/ walmart oil filter for 130000 miles and no prob block wise until my stock gaskets started to go.

not tryin to give u shi*, but buying a better oil filter is like a more expensive watch because it keeps time 0.00001 of a second better. Granted, it is a better filter, but not enough to justify the extra cost. my personal opinion.
