  • lunch break of a lifetime

Today, on our way back from a client's house my area manager and I went and checked out the local Dodge dealership while we were picking up lunch, and we kinda stand out both being well over 6' tall and wearing business suits, so of course a sales guy comes trotting down to us after a few mins. We were checking out all the new Challengers at the lot, and a couple had my eye...one being a new R/T hemi with chrome wheels and gorgeous pearl white paint with black stripes, and the other being a badass SRT8 with all the options and a 6spd pistol grip short throw. The guy was so impressed with how much I knew about all of the different models he went and got his boss and said, "well, you seem to know your stuff man, but it's a whole different world to actually drive it...wanna take it for a spin?" ...I of course took him up on it. He started it up and showed me the features, then turned it over to me----and there I was with 425 horses of pavement eating hemi at my hands. He gave me the thumbs up and said, "alright, don't get arrested!" and off I went.

Needless to say, IT WAS A BEAST!! It seemed like a blink of the eye and I was going well over 100 on the interstate, and she pulled strong in every gear with massive torque. Launches were insane and it threw my manager back in his seat without trying. I wish I had pics of everything besides on my phone but I'm definitely going to frame the dealer permission paper he gave to me.

Probably the best hour of my life...no, definitely haha.

Man, your lucky! I wish I could've done that. Was the drive smooth or kind of rough?

I'm used to my stiff tuned suspension and lowering, so this thing floated like a cloud in comparison...I could drive that beast cross-country it was so comfortable. And the room inside was great, I mean granted it's a much bigger car than our f-bodies, but I'm 6'6" and the guy riding with me is 6'5" and we had plenty of room and then some.

5300 lbs? no sir. 42xx is on the money. keep in mind i drive an ls1 too with exhaust and free mods, the srt8 is faster, not by a ton, but faster. off the line feels the same but this thing picks up top speed like it means business. if you don't take my word go drive both and see for yourself.

this is far from the fastest car i've ever been behind the wheel of...it's more about the chance to drive something most 23 yr old guys would never touch. go ask your local dealer to throw you the keys, and if you're lucky to get them see if it doesn't make your day.

                  Looks like straight *** though.

Looks don't matter when you're behind the wheel though.

The tail end looks the worst, IMHO. But you know what they say... "Opinions are like...."

I would definitely enjoy a ride in one.

It looks so much like an old 'Cuda that I'm surprised they didn't go with that.
