But what I was getting at is that the drivers off the nVidia website don't work properly with their older cards (with my 5200 anyway) even if you select it as the model and download from there. You need to download an older version of the drivers for the card because there are compatibility issues with the new drivers on the older cards.
I believe this is the version I used and it worked for my 5200. v91.xxx
I just checked the nVidia website and they say to download the 175.xxx version drivers, but they acted the same as you are describing on the computer I recently installed it in.
would the one for the 5200 work for mine?

so you my friend are my hero. what i had to do was drag the 2 monitor on the other side of the 1 monitor, enable it, then change the graphics settings. not sure why, but its all small now!

so went and played some more, and moving it only enabled the other monitor...awkward. like i said i am smart enough to not be able to fix anything.

i play wow... that was the whole reason for me getting the new card, the on board graphics was eating up all the wholesome goodness of ram, my poor computer is only expandable up to a gig, and i have that already.

I feel ya on the NO TIME FOR ANYTHING deal. Between my gf's car and both of mine, I've had no break for anything. And after doing all that work, she's selling it. I'm not going there though.

I need help again, from people who can do computers.
i wiped my hdd and reinstalled windows. found the disc for my wireless card, got online and went to the nvidia site to get the drivers for my graphics card...i installed the drivers and restarted, but instead of looking cool, its in 4 bit color. it says my drivers are for a previous version of windows??? i did this twice to be sure, over writing the previous install of the drivers...
help, what other info do i need??

no, i reinstalled windows xp, i had to super update my service pack for the drivers to take!! i figured it out, i ran windows update and it took all night to update.
