Yup, and I don't see that many Firebirds and Fieros anymore, well esp. Fiero and 3rd gen Firebird.

Just Yesterday, my wife saw a pre-98 bowling green Firebird and she said, "Hey look a Camaro!" I had to slap her :D

well, GM axed Oldsmobile, the oldest vehicle brand in it's line up a few yrs back w/o batting an eye, why should a brand w/just 83 yrs to it mean anything?

makes me glad to litterly own a piece of history w/my 78 Formy.

Interestign thing is, check out the sales in this http://phx.corporate-ir.net/External...F8VHlwZT0z&t=1 the G8 basically trippled it's sales from a yr ago, and was the only product to increase sales by more than 1 whole percentage point.

I heard about that G8 too, but the sale on the Soltice has gone down.

I would love to see Australian base Holden pick up the Pontiac brand.

If I know GM and the way the workers locally have been treated, they may cut them a check that'll supposed to cover the rest of their lives and expenses and those they don't can try to get through to the unenjoyment number to get a small fraction of what they made for roughly 6 months. Very angry town we got here.

Pontiac's problem was not sales, GM Chief Executive Fritz Henderson indicated during a conference call Monday. In 2008, Pontiac was the company's third-best selling brand behind Chevrolet and GMC and sold twice as many vehicles as Buick, a brand that will apparently survive the changes at GM.

The problem for Pontiac has been profitability. GM doesn't generally break out profits by brand, but Buick and GMC, which are sold in dealerships alongside Pontiacs, are more profitable, Henderson said.

I think it's because "Pontiac" reflects a native american, a minority image, and thus is being discriminated against.
