  • I need advice on selling V6 parts.

Where are other forum members selling their V6 take off parts?

I have been trying to part out a V6 Firebird here for over a year with little success due to lack of interest. Price is not the issue because the ad states that I will accept what the buyer believes is fair. I assumed the parts listed would be useful to members repairing or restoring their f-body, or to someone wanting a cheap way to test a modification.

Is my assumption about the parts usefulness incorrect or has my shipping requirements** alienated too many buyers?

Any help would be appreciated. Including other groups/forums where members may be looking for these parts or advice on how to improve my ad here.

    Thank you

you're advertising on a board that has like 10 active members...most of which have cars, your parts wouldn't fit. You'll have better luck posting the same ad on Craigslist or eBay

you are better off with local craigslist for large items that you are unwilling to ship as these fbody sites are targeting the USA in general and people are not going to be up the street here on the forums.

Plus 3.4 parts in general don't sell too fast.

Also your post count and credibility on this site has not been made yet with only 20-30 posts. People like to know you are here for more than scamming people. (even though you could be a great seller). Just the way people see it with few posts

yeah, ive never been a fan of buying from people i dont see on the boards often and know. only time i really do that is if its a local board and im picking parts up. if not, im super wary of who i buy things from online

also, doesnt help the economy is in the dumps right now, people arent willing to part with money like they were before.

your also selling a lot of parts that arent commonly needed...the big ticket items such as the front bumper covers, interior seats (especially leather ) are what make the money...and some 3.8 engine parts...most people dont want 3.4 engine parts because they either go with the 3500 top end swap, or diff motor or something...

there's members here, just MAYBE 10 that are actually modding and working on their car. Everyone else on this site are BSers and post whores. Don't deny it, its true

well to b honest, the site will probably die as our cars age and break down and fewer have them/care about the ones they do have..... unless we get a bunch of 5th gen owners

modding never ends...I said I was done when I did my exhaust and intake...then some suspension went in, then a few more bolt ons...then I was done...then I started pondering about a cam...then the cam went in...now Im tuning...then I was done...........then came the stall lol.....now Im done until I begin thinking about cylinder heads and intake manifolds again...damn near almost bought a holden intake but the deal fell through....trick is waiting patiently for deals to arise...but having your research done in advance so that you know exactly what you want/need for when it does come up...

your right...im not almost done. once i get my car running, i need brakes. drilled and slotted will do me fine. and i also need LCAs and panhard bar, and torque arm. then ima get new wheels. plus i still need a tune. i also need new rear shocks and springs. why not do the front while im doing it. swaybar links need replacing, why not buy a new sway bar. i hate it, i just cant stop!! its like my addiction, i dont smoke, drink, take drugs, or anything, but i cant stop modding my car!!!
