My great grandparents passed away when I was young (2ish)
My grandfather passed away this last December. I saw him 4 days before hand and he looked great (85, and a heart attack at 75ish. After that he went to the gym every morning)
On the flip side, My aunt had a brain tumor for 3 years, and suffered so much. She passed away a little over a year ago.
It's hard to say it, but I think my grandfather was lucky to not suffer.
Sorry to hear that , my Grandma passed away with fluids building up and then they would drain them for 2 years until finally she passed away. She was in pain alot so I felt it was her time, she was 87 and our last grand parent. Sucks it has to be on Mothers Day though.

Thats what I said to myself when my G-ma passed away , I couldn't even go and view her in the casket. But I did help do the carrying. I wanted to picture her at a happy time in her life and remember that instead of her in the casket. I'm glad I did, becuase I have all the good memorys and don't have that picture in my mind. Sorry for your loss again.

Unfornately the last sight of my grandfather was the paramedics performing CPR as he was loaded onto the ambulance.
I was a pallbearer for both my aunt and grandfather.
When I was in high school, one of my good friends died in a car accident. Everyone loved the kid.
A few days after it happened, we were at a "service" for him. Sitting in a big meetinghouse, everyone mourning. Almost every single person was bawling their eyes out. Another good friend stood up and said "You guys are all *****ing and moaning about how sad this is. What you aren't thinking about is the fact that right now, he is probably running around this room naked."
Interesting way of looking at it..
