what could i get for the v6

i have 02 firebird v6. its a automatic. im having a shop put a brand new gm motor in it with zero miles on it.. body has 114200 miles on it. the exterior of the car looks brand new. no dents or scratches. and the interior i give a modest 8 out of 10. has a sound system in it. Just wondering what a reasonable price to look for.

What's wrong with the current motor? How much are you paying for it? Only reason I ask is because if you're thinking of selling it, it may be smarter to sell it before the new motor. You may spend $2k for a new motor, and only get $1k more afterwards.

If I was shopping for another car and the previous owner told me that a new motor was just installed, I'd think either the engine was beat to death or it was involved in an accident. Besides that, the potential buyer may think that the drivetrain is next in line for replacement.

the car was babied all of its life. but one day the motor started knocking and gave up one month later. so i replaced the motor. i love the car but i like the gto's better

you would probaly be beter off with a junk yard motor with out knowing that it ever had any motor issues id guess around 5,000

I had the same issue, especially after I test drove an '05 GTO. Right then-and-there, I knew my camaro's days were numbered.

the brand new motor i got cheaper than most ppl would think. its only cuz i work for a chevy dealership. so i got the motor at cost

I coulda built an engine for you for about 2500. Removal, dismantel, machine, bore block, shave heads, installation. MORE HP and 0 miles in about 4 days or less.

paid like $2300. came with a 3yr/100,000 mile warranty. my block was destroyed. my bearing put a 6 inch hole in the block.
