i own both. the bird is down atm, and im trying to get it fixed. i need lifters and hopefully a new timing cover gasket, which im all in the process of replacing.

as for the bug, when i was in high school i built a bad motha effin engine for the bug, it used to be faster than my bird. i took an engine with a stock stroke and bore (counter weighted and balanced), put a big ole scat c45 cam in it, ported the mess out of the heads, and put twin two barrel carbs on it, i ran a 9.02 and got second place in the import shoot out at the drag strip. then i decided to put a single weber on it and boost it, thats the video above. it didnt go as fast but it was an experience. i ended up taking a corner too fast getting on the interstate, starved the engine for oil and burnt up a rod bearing. then i built the crappy engine i have in it now, slow as pie. but it gets me from a-b. it may look like a pile but i set it up for auto-x. disc brakes on all 4s, sway bars front and rear, built tranny, with 3.88 rp, no interior. i need to restore it, but i cant cause my effin firebird keeps takin giant dumps!!!

nah, the skirts are the w68 sport appearance package. some jackass before me took off the front skirts, looks like crap.

empi has a inch thick catalog full of cj yj, fj, toyota and a/c vw stuff. all performance.

i dont really like the jc whitney, they really dont have much. their catalog for a/c vw stuff is pretty thin. this company in il called mid america motorworks stocks way more crap than jc whitney. and they also sell parts for corvettes.
