I think it might have an electric one... the car only has 18,000km (11,000 miles) on it...

wow...i swear if i was even close to canada, id take it from you...lol

but low milage being the case, i dont see the fin problem with your pump...but if it has an electric one then i dont see the waterpump being the problem at all really. feel the lower rad hose to see if its hard or mushy like it has crap all clogged up in it, that will stop the flow of coolant in a heart beat.

but only when the a/c is on? I cant seem to think of why the a/c should have any impact on the car overheating at all...

cause the condenser coil is in front of the radiator, and in order to condense refrigerant, and make it a liquid, the gas must first be super heated, using compression to heat it, refrigerant goes into the condenser coil hott.

I don't quite understand...how would that make the car want to overheat?

im just kinda guessing why the a/c would be the only reason.

but since the condenser is in front of the radiator, and the condenser is hot, then the radiator will be getting the hot air from the condenser instead of outside temp air. if you look at a honda, the condeser is on one side and the radiator is on the other, same with alot of dodge trucks.

but then we should all overheat when the a/c is on? because I just took out my condenser the other day and it was the size of the rad...

my thoughts...but if the radiator was having trouble doing its job to begin with then the condenser would make it worse...see where its going?

check the cooling fans, do they ahve 1 or two? make sure they are getting to high speed. Ac will cause a car to run warm, that is why jsut about every factory tune witll automatically kick the cooling fans on when AC is on.

It there are 2 fans, and one is running other isn't, try swapping the relays and see if then the other fan works, then just replace the relay.

also check the wiring on the possible manual switch mod under the hood(there are write ups online.) Make sure that isn't affecting anything.

Just from what I have been told, I woudl be leaning heavily towars the cooling fans. Good, idea to check everything out but if it overheats at stops, means no cool air over fans. If AC is overheating, means no cool air over AC. Problems in the rest of the cooling system would cause different issues.

well I got the laptop on it to pull the tune out and will be going through it in the next few days...ALOT of stuff in there...

Car has 3 fans by the rad...2 in the back, 1 in the front....AND it has a fan above what I believe to be the intercooler...this one is hooked up to a switch though?

I don't know a whole lot about FI, but why would you need a switched fan over the intercooler?

didn't have a chance to check the fans to see if there working with the scanner...by the time I got everything hooked up it was 1am, and that car is loud...so I'll hopefully be able to get over there again tommorrow and get it running and check the fans for operation and such...
