camaro ads

is it me or do all the new camaro ads seem to be completely opositte of the cars image. the ads all look to be designed for a prius. i went to go see the hangover the other night, great movies. but the for the camaro looked exactly like a yaris comercial, with the exception of clips from transformers. and why are they advertising the v6 with images of bumblebee. i think the ad should have been something a little like this. with rubber burnin and lots of noise. even the mustang did something bad *** for the mustang a while back. the magazine ads are to artsy fartsy. not enough muscle. ford has all the right imagery going for the mustang. you go to the mustangs home page, 1st thing there is a mustang gt with smoking tires.

its being marketed as a modern sports car, not a muscle car- which is wrong IMO

they market the v6 cuz they learned from the 4th gens.. v8s will not sell enough to make the car profitable

and i have yet to see a camaro commercial on tv

you can advertise the v6 all day, but if its crusing at 5 mph against a white background that aint no sports car. maybe cruising though a closed course mountain road advertising its wonderful mpg and still getting 304 hp. or some great thing about its awsome handling. or whatever rocks chevys mind.

what is it with this site lately? everyone has done nothing but piss and moan about each and everything.

its a commercial and if you havent noticed, there's this green movement going on, people are looking at mpgs, not burnouts and handling. not everyone is a car enthusiast.

and i know there is a green movement, but the camaro is not meant to be green... it IS a car for car Enthusiast's car, and should be marketed as such. and it can get away with that with green ppl to in the v6 form bc it has pretty good mpg

I like the 2nd one on your second to last post....good. back to the matter at hand, the whole theory behind the camaro was to blend classic styling with modern amenities and power. it was made to challenge the mustang, which was modeled after the classic. I myself believe that they are trying to market the car to the people who will be least likely to purchase it. car enthusiasts have been anticipating it for so long that they already know alot about it and dont need a fancy comercial to tell them to buy it. And as stated above, everyone is going "green" which means they also have to be able to appeal the car to the people who are trying to go green. thats my 2 cents.

I agree. You don't see C6 owners doing burn outs or drag racing out there. Most of them are adult, mature drivers who likes to be in a nice car.
