ditto. When I need work done, I stand in the bay door and watch everything they do. Sometimes it pisses them off.

I once brought a car of mine to place I trusted. Well, the owner was out, and his brother was running the joint. Some DB broke off a lug stud, and when I questioned him, he told me it was like that. Like that my ***! Instead of fixing it right, they lost a customer. Now I watch everything.

        that's awesome...

and yea, I was a Tech 2 at Sears for a couple years and I used to hate it when people lingered while I was working on their car, mostly because if people don't know much about cars, they don't necessarily understand the force you have to use on some parts and things like that... kinda made me self-conscious while I was working... the way I looked at it though, was I knew that not everyone would treat their cars the way I did so I understood why they were out there... I was a salesman there for a year before I was a tech so I had some experience with the customers and what to expect...

My dad loves this one mechanic in our town he seems to do a very good job on everything he does, but charges out the a**. He is the same guy that rebuilt the engine on the goat and he did a wonderful job on that. He never messes anything up... just so d*** expensive. My dad had him replace one of the coils on my car and the total was like $190!!!! I told my dad if he is willing to pay that much to get my car fixed just give me the money and I will do it myself.

              Re: Fun at TireMan

The new tire was sitting on my front porch when I got home today. I love how incredibly fast jegs is. Threw it in my car, took it back to the same tireman store and sat right next to my car as a different mechanic changed the tire. This kid obviously had a problem in one way or another with me being there.. or the fact that he had to work. Anyways..

The one that screwed my car came over..
I said, "Hey I saw where ya jacked my car up, don't worry I fixed it"
He goes, "What was wrong with it"
I said, "You jack it up where it says DO NOT JACK HERE and you bent the **** out of my panel".
With a hint of attitude he said "Where does it say that?" As I leaned down to show him exactly where it's printed, I said, "Right here where you jacked it up" As if I was lying to him.
He goes, "That's hard to see" I laughed and told him not to sweat it. Another mechanic took a jab at him asking him if he needs glasses.

Also, apparently the tire I was changing was written up for a repair.. not a change since I had been in there Sunday and they couldn't repair the old tire. I don't know why because I didn't lie to the salesman up front.
And I had them straighten out the steering wheel with another alignment. Apparently the guy that did the alignment Sunday did a bad job cause this last guy said it was toed out pretty bad. I was like.. wtf?

I didn't pay a dime for the tire, not a dime for the mount/balance, and not a damn thing for the second alignment. If anything, I do owe them for the tire change.. but wtf ever. I had to repair my **** after they worked on it and still take it back to get it done right.

I'm never going back there again. If I need an alignment or tire mounted, i'll just wait till my friends shop is open. He won't mind me hanging out. He likes driving my car around the lot anyways.
