but millions work for them, and no one forces them, and millions shop there, and no one forces them...
Did you stop reading my posts at some point?

I work in a major metropolitan city. Some of these people do not. After a company like Wal-mart comes in and beats the **** out of the local business and economy of a small town, they in turn, LIKE YOU SAID, will fill the holes in the market where the business is. Except the problem is that when a company like that is the only surviving store, they have in turn made themselves a monopoly in the local area. Now the employee that was making $8.50 an hour with some decent benefits has either two choices, take the job at the huge conglomerate for a dollar less an hour and a loss of benefits, or move. What kind of decision is that? Take it or leave? This is free market capitalism.
I said this already, is anyone FORCING them, no, but what other choice do you have, drive 25-30 miles to a more populated area, or move? Its a **** decision to make.

You're contradicting yourself... not EVERYONE turns evil once they get some money in their bank accounts... most of them are very generous and SMART people... they deserve to be rewarded for their talents, and they deserve to take all the pleasure they want in their spoils... once again it's the American dream... if you can blame the rich for the poor's struggles, then why shouldn't the rich blame the poor for taking THEIR money... and let's get something else straight... not everyone who makes big money is a top exec... plenty of people work for those execs and make plenty of money... besides, small businesses employ something like 90+% of the workforce... guys who took a skill or trade and turned it into a business... the exact person who you're Obamacare will punish...
This is funny. Ive been working a side job for a co-workers cousin. He owns a warehouse that does work with sheetmetal from coils, and makes whatever out of them, fabrication of some sort. I had this discussion with him earlier today. He employs some 25ish people, office personnel, drivers, warehouse workers, so on. He offers them health insurance. Depending on their age, conditions, and so forth, none of them pay more than $250 a month for their coverage. Granted, its not the best of the best insurance, they have somewhat high deductibles, I think in the $1000 range, but nonetheless, he still offers it. He just bought land out in the middle of BFE Illinois, built himself a brand new 85,000 square foot facility, little larger than what he has. His normal employees make anywhere from $30k a year to roughly $50k a year, depending on their job (some are mundane menial jobs, some are in sales). His business still brings in $200k a month, IN THIS ECONOMY, and he cuts himself a piece of about $170k a year, and this company STILL turns a damn good net profit for the company. Damn good guy too, supports everything me and his cousin do. Had no problem getting his hands dirty at all (he was in the warehouse all day moving coil sheets with a 25 ton hoist). How can his small business be the exception to everyone else struggling to clear a profit? How can he afford to make $170k a year, pay his people a halfway decent wage, and STILL afford to pay part of their health insurance? He's not paying minimum wage and beating to death his employees, and yet he still enjoys the fruit of his labor, as well as his employees. I can't see how he is the exception to everything you are saying.

Not exactly... the media spun this terribly. I'm not condoning what he did but he didn't literally try to make money from someone who wanted to be a Senator... read up on it... from somewhere that is reputable... I'm not condoning what he did in anyway, and regardless it's still in no way an argument for socialized health care
Son, I live in the damn state. Blago's house is not more than 10 miles from here. All I heard for 4 months was about the tapes of him selling that seat. FBI confirmed it, and I read and watched thru multiple sources of media.

Again... not an argument for socialized health care...
I solved that about 11-12 posts ago, but you never responded, thats why I stopped talking about healthcare specifically. Pay people more money so that they can afford it, or tax the employers. Thats all I can tell you about the healthcare issue. I also questioned your math, in which you never responded to that either.

Many many many voters did not vote for what they got...
They're called pissy Republicans. Squirt more tears. And Obama still have a 58% approval rating as of last week.

Dayton, Ohio had the 4th largest turn-out in the country at the April 15th tea parties...
yeah, and I bet all you went during a paid lunch break right?

One more way of looking at it... If someone makes the choice to smoke and develops lung cancer, should my tax dollars pay for their treatment? If someone drinks and develops cirrhosis of the liver, should I pay for their diuretics? If someone likes to cut themselves should I pay for their stitches? Even though I don't smoke, drink or mutilate myself? All problems with Universal health care...
oh there's plenty that I forgot to mention... in reality you could even go as far as saying, should I pay for a broken leg suffered playing a game of backyard football, even if I don't play backyard football... the slippery slope is becoming steeper

I don't know. Im not the one thats going to make the details of it all. But it seems like the two Canadians that have posted seem to like the healthcare they have.....and you've BARELY said a word to them. You're starting to do alot of dodging with some of the stuff that has been said. I already gave you options as to the healthcare, you in turn support the greediness, by not paying employees more but not paying anymore tax either. Sounds a little greedy......not to mention it sounds like a 6 year old going "I DON'T WANNA", and "GIMME THAT ITS MINE!!! EVERYTHING IS MINE!!".

I edited the direct attacks. Resume.....no sense in locking a thread if nothing illegal, detrimental, cruel, or unwarranted has been said. Long as the personal direct attacks are avoided, then I have no point in locking it.

There's still direct attacks... you're the one who's dodging, I've taken on every credible post I have read to this point the best I can... and I'm officially bored with this... we agree on almost everything except for socialized health care... there are many problems that you have pointed out, and I agree with them... maybe I don't agree with why you think they're problems... but problems none the less... I know what I know... you know what you know... not gonna change my mind, I'm not gonna change yours... I'm not giving up... just giving up on you...

the thing about liberals is... sometimes you can't reason someone out of something they didn't reason themselves into...

I have officially agreed to disagree with you Mogobs... bc I can smell the subtle attacks and I'm just bored with it... I have at least acknowledged when you've been right and have kept you personally out of it as much as was acceptable...

and if you truly believe everything that you've said, then you would NOT support Obamacare... it's simply the wrong solution... We both agree that reform is necessary... but as I said earlier... change for the sake of change is the wrong way to go...

Uhh ohh going back to the "we lost they must have cheated!" defense?

I am not going to get into it, but I believe all of our contries woes really were emphasized by Clinton. (yes definitely some from before that)

-hmm terrorists attacks... lets let them continue(WTC bombing, Embassy attacks, USS cole, nothing done) What will happen? 9/11 Ohh wait, pretty much caused the entire airline industry to go in ****ter, and when you look at most US economy, the biggest spike on our economic downturn happens right around 9/11/01. How many terrorist attacks on the US since?
-Lets let housing prices get out of control, and creat real estate bubble
-to add to this lets let our lending laws get out of hand, to the point where we threaten to sue credit lendors for not giving minorities loans, not because of race, but based on their credit rating, so now we have to give everyone loans even if they don't have the credit for it!
-Lets leave SUV/truck epa regs stay low so people will buy more of them making the country more eneregy dependent.(remember the popularity of 96-2000 explorers, suburbans, tahoes? and the coming of the Excursion.)
                    - .com boom! instead of raising interest rates and not letting our economy grow to big too fast(because with all large spikes in economic growth, there is a huge downturn) Lets let it go, I mean I will get better approval ratings, while no matter who the next guy is will deal with bull****.

I am not saying Bush was an amazing president, but he wasn't complete **** either... Dealt a ****ty hand made the scapegoat for any and every problem that happened during his term... (My clutch went out on my 94 camaro when Bush was president!, that never happened when Clinton was in!)

I was giving the new guy a chance....

but he was jsut proving he is exactly what I thought he was... a good politician, not a good president.

                    -Cap and trade?
-Higher Cafe ratings when our automotive manufacturers are in the ****ter.
-Raising taxes on companies and rich...
-Don't even get me started on nationalized health care(If you already have regular healthcare through your work you keep it, but if your work cannot afford it then the government will pay for it. Hmm.... raised taxes on companies... where can they save? Drop healthcare coverage and let government pic up the bill, that shoudl help the deficit) Don't forget how this is going to affect the coverage we will be getting.

Tax breaks for the poor don't mean ****, when your company lays you off.... and you have no income.

All I see, is more going "green" which I admit is important, but I think we are just doing it as a gimicky thing for approval ratings, lets worry about getting our **** back together, not going green.

I know he doesn't have sunshine and peaches to work with, but he is ****ing everything up even more.

Wonder who the new president will be in 3 more years, because I can gurantee it won't be this guy, I already have had talks with people kind of regretting voting for "the Messiah"

                      LOL....

                      You support Obama's healthcare plan?

This is coming form a person who has dealt with a very very costly life threatening, long drawn out treatment. For those that don't know/remember, I had Cancer.

7 months of treatment, 12 weeks under hospital care chemotherapy, dozens of MRIs, catscans, xrays, 3 surgeries.

After my crappy pretty much useless insurance paid out... I owed $192,000 in bills. I was never denied medical care, or comfort based on my ability to not pay.

4 years later, I owe nothing.

Now here is the good part, guy about my age in canada, near same exact cancer(same area) got misdiagnosed by doctors, it spread to far and he died. Sure if I broke a leg, or something simple, probalby better to do it there. It made me sick to my stomach being on a cancer messageboard seeing members and myself have to give information and help to peopel who had ****ty doctors in other countries. I am talking like the same way we tell a person RPO code G80 means you have LSD, we were telling guys what numbers in their tumor markers they needed to look for because their docs gave misinformation.

There is a reason why alot of rich people from developed countries come to ours for medical care.

Name 1 Federal Government agency that is innovative, efficient, properly organized, and doesn't waste money hand over fist.

I know peopel are bitter about the last decade or so, but lets find the cause of problems, and ****ing fix, quite scapegoating one president, then voting another one in to spite the last one.
