I have to see this Nero Dr. today before they will do my heart surgery coming up soon I hope, and then will have my back surgery I hope before X-MAS. Really nervous just seeing him since the last time we meet he said I wouldn't be the same person just too much damage and would be limited on alot of stuff. Which I was pissed at the time and I know he was right and I was really angry towards him when he told me. So will see how it goes, appt. is at 1pm so I should get some sleep. Later Steve

Well he is going to refer me to a cardiologist and then I will have a anothher scan of the heart, another tube down the throat. Then They will do the surgery, said there is a risk of dying if the closure doesn't stay in place and causes a heart attack. Oh well , risks you got to take to get better.LOL

My wife is going to have her cath. done on Aug. 4th. Her cardiologist wants to know if her heart has gotten worst and he wants to see if he could salvage her right lung. Right now she's just not a good candidate for an open heart surgery because she has too many health problems that keeps popping up. They want to revise her Fontan Procedure so she could have a better quality life. If not a heart transplant. But the doctor said that there's more risk with the heart transplant than with the Fontan.

Pretty scarry stuff. So, yeah, I know what you're going through. Take care of yourself.

They have to make sure there are no more problems with my heart since my EKG's come back abnormal. So they will do the scope down in the heart again then if all is well, they will go up through the groin and put a type of umbrella type thing where the hole is and the pressure from the heart is suppose to suck it down and then they stich it. But there is a risk if it doesn't hold , he said a few have died during the procedure because it comes loose. Just a overnight stay and thats it plus 6 months rest and I can take Asprin once a day instead of Warfin. Then on to the back surgery. Which I really want to do now , tired of taking all these meds. That's the same exact procedure that my wife will be going thru on Aug. 4th. Through the neck and groin area as well. She'll be off warfin too and start taking asprin 4 or 5 day before. My wife is a bleeder way before we ever knew about this. The cardio. will actually try and poke a hole through walls of her heart.

But you know you are still a young and strong guy. I take my wife with me to the gym and we do very short workout with weights. I'm trying to prevent her from vegging out. Most of the guys I heard dying from this procedure have been the elderly ones. So I have high hopes that we'll be OK.

Neurologist , from my stoke , he had to check me out to refer me to cardio. They rate your condition mines still like -2 or -3 was like -4 after the stroke. Just shows how much nerve damage, weakness on the affected side and facial droop. Also speech, reading, reconizing objects. My speech is bad sometimes and also reading is hard, get lost on where I'm reading at on what line, so like focusing is bad and my memory is real bad sometimes(never remember names), I think my speech is bad because I know what I want to say but it doesn't come out right or I get stuck on a word. I'm left handed so having the stroke affect my left side messed up my ability to write clearly and having post nerve problems with spasicity (muscle tightness and spasms on my entire left side). So basicly just sucks @ss. Then add a messed up back which I will have surgery after this one.

I wish I could still work out but with my back its not happening, but I do streches to keep from having less spasms in my leg and arm. After I have back surgery and I hope it turns out good I can start working out again. If all goes well , I'll meet with the cardio guy have the camara in the heart again and then I'll have the procedure. So mine will be around the time of your wifes it sounds like, I'll pm you when the date is. Hope everything goes well for your wife.
