and just to let you know any car that is new and has an engine bigger than i think 2 liters is considered a "sporty car" and you will pay around the same in insurance. It's not the car that makes the insurance high, it's the driver.
Any male driver under the age of ~25 is going to have high insurance driving ANY kind of sports car.
And for what it's worth, the new camaro has an excellent crash rating, which also brings the price of insurance down.
