I have my sister's 2002 BMW Z3 with a 2.8 I6 for a couple of weeks. I thought I would save her some money by fixing her coolant leak, seat motors, passenger side mirror motor, and diagnose her SES and fix it. I also replaced her BMW emblems and damaged side markers.
My little sister is really cool to me and my wife. When my wife was gravely ill she really stepped in and helped us out financially & emotionally. I owe her a lot and this is the least I could do for her.
Anyway....There was a lot of scratches and some dents, esp. at the passenger side doors and rear panel. I used a dent puller to pull some of that out and it made it better, not perfect, just better. I used a lot of touch up paint and I did a lot of went sanding. Then I used 3m compound and mother's scratch remover. It helped a lot.
Once I was done with all the fixing and body work I used Turtle Wax Black Box on it. It took me 4 hours to wash and wax it. It came out looking like a brand new BMW. That Black Box is AMAZING!!! Definately a must have for black cars. I'm pretty sure my sister will be surprise once she gets her car back.
I made a mistake of not taking pics of it before. There's a huge difference in the before and after. I must say it's a good looking roadster now. It ride so smoothly now too.
It was very windy so it got some dust on it the minute I took it out, but you can see that nice mirror shine:
