I teach a college class once a year in the Fall semester. After five years of teaching the same class, the university finally did not mandate a new textbook this year. So, it is hello to not having to figure an all new syllabus, new chapter problems, etc...

I wish my classes I'm taking were like that... EVERY class this fall is using a new book, so I have to buy all new books... I hate school :(

My school ALWAYS changes the textbooks. Meaning that instead of being able to find them used, you had to get the $160 new ones.

text book writing and publishing is big business...sometimes it seems schools are in cahoots with the publishing companies, making sure the required text is the latest edition, so students are forced to spend the cash on new, rather than used.

so what's the course you teach? I've wanted to teach for a while now...I did some TA work as a Master's student, but nothing since.

I have a Master's degree, so I can teach most undergraduate classes.

That's cool though that you teach. I sometimes get invited to teach New Testament course for 1 semester at Notre Dame High School. Yeah, making lesson plans and syllabus is something else. It is a lot fun though to teach.
