i was wondering if anybody else on here was having a problem with both tires spinning when you're doing a burnout. my 2001 maro seems to only spin the right rear tire but the left one keeps traction. i know this may not be a bad thing when i really want the traction, but how can i overcome the power issue to make both tires spin?

it's no problem, you just don't have a lsd(limited slip differential) rear end.

        Re: burning some rubber

you would need to find a rear end with lsd and swap it with your current rear end =/

well u could get different diff they will run u about the same as a rear end but if uve never done one b4 id recomend getting a new rear with a lsd or u want to look for the code g80 on the parts and service tag on ur driver side door if u find that code u have a lsd but its bad if not find a camaro thats got it i dont have a lsd i have a regular diff and i have no probs burning both tires

i changed my diff years ago....it would probably be easier to change the entire rear. but you can get a diff cheaper

You need Trans-X in your diff. to spin both tires, it works wonders. LOL J/K

diff swap is easy 1.5 hours max unless you gotta do carrier bearings then maybe 2 hours

                  Weld the spider gears :D

You won't have any traction issues after that

                    But you will break axles.

i didn't think that spinning both tires was a problem.

You could probably get one for about 500 clam shells

Here I can pick up a 3.42 rear for $300 at the scrap yards. But the welding sounds like a good plan or locker.LOL
