  • Society in general is really going to the dunk heap!!

I was caught in a heavy traffic in the FWY and we were going anywhere from 0-15 mph at a 102-105* weather.

My old pick up kept stalling on me, but it would start up the minute traffic starts moving again, so I wasn't holding anybody behind. I know that it was my alternator that was going.

I stayed on the 1st lane at all times. I was hoping to get to the nearest exit so I can go the nearest station and fix my truck. Well the nearest exit was a couple more miles away and I was praying that my truck would make it.

Sure enough my truck stalled again at a dead stop and it won't crank anymore. I was less than a mile away from the nearest exit. I got out of my truck and started waving at the drivers to let them know that my truck stalled and I'll be pushing it to the side.

These jerk off drivers started honking their horns at me, gave me the finger, and started cussing me out. I don't if it was the hot weather or the heavy traffic, but that was totally un-called for. I was ticked off at their behavior.

I walked to the exit and called my wife at Carl's Jr. and told her to pick up an alternator for me and to meet me at Carl's Jr. Got the alternator, walked back to my truck and it only took me less than 10 mins. to install it. I was worried that I might have drained out the battery, but thank God the truck started up right away and I was able to go home.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I was pissed off at those people who weren't sympathetic. I've always been helpful to other people who I don't know. I would get out of my car and help people push their cars to side, I also took them to the gas station and back because they ran out of gas, or even give them a jump if they need it. I even took home an elderly man once because he was carrying grocery bags that looked too heavy for him. It's my Christian calling to help out those in need if I can, but I was really disappointed at them.

I don't know, I guess most people nowadays are always pissed off.

America is so unkind these days. A girl told me yesterday that I was the nicest guy that she had been around in a long time (and yeah I'm nice, but everyone should be). It's sad to see how downhill this society has gone.

And I'm sorry about your situation. People just suck these days. Everyone needs to chill the f out.

Peolple have always been less than nice when driving. When I was a new driver (back in 1978), my parent's 74 Chevy had some sort of vapor lock problem and would stall out sometimes and not staet up easily. The car stalled in traffic once (not even a freeway, just a regular town road) and I still remember people cussing and flipping the bird at me me as I was frantically trying to get the darn car to start.

So, no it is not very nice, but it also is not a recent thing.

PS - The term is dung heap, not dunk heap :)

yea, people suck sometimes... but have faith, there's still plenty of good ones out there. What sucks the most about those people is that eventually people like you get so fed up that you start to assume everyone's bad and then the good people end up under the same assumption that everyone's a d!ckhead... I've been in a few situations where I was just trying to help someone and they got all freaked out like I was going to hurt them somehow...

Which is why I love where I live now, which is basically in a retirement condo community... old people are very nice ;)

Not all people are butt heads...Take me for example.

Just the other night, this guy runs up to me and my car while I was at a red light. Apparently, he was really ugly as he had a mask covering his nose and mouth. Anyways, he mentioned something about how he needed my car and quickly. He even helped me out of my car and waved a pistol around so other drivers wouldn't drive too close and hit me.
I didn't get a chance to ask him his name or get contact info but I'm hoping that he sees my insurance papers in the glove box and drops my car off when he is done using it. If I'm lucky, maybe he will use my garage door opener and leave my car in the garage although I don't remember telling him he had to.

I guess you could say I like to help people...especially when they are nice to me too!

i was rollin in my brothers blazer just the other day and it died on me in traffic, i was trying to get it off the road when suddenly it got easy. some random dude stopped and helped my push it. there is hope for people, unfortunately for you, you live in california. alabama has a little different atmosphere, if your a true southerner then you actually feel bad for the dude pushing his ride off the road, and sometimes people even stop to help.

Yeah, there are a few good people out there. But lately they are getting harder to find.

Ive seen a picture of you before edgar,...... I don't think i'd have the balls to honk at you after you got out of your truck in traffic, in fear of you picking up my car and throwing it to the next county.

Most of Kentucky is like that, i stopped and helped a guy whose van had broken down they were on a family vacation, this has been a couple months ago. and not too long ago ran outta gas on my bike and a random passerby just stopped filled up my tank and i tried to pay him he said naw don't worry bout it i been there done that, ride safe and left. There's hope for ppl.

Ohio is bipolar when it comes to friendliness. There are times people are so ridiculous I feel like I am in Cali and there are times that I am blown away by kindness. I guess that is everywhere, I seem to be lucky enough to run into car enthusiasts whenever I have had a problem.

I hate people. Plain and simple. I work retail, and I take it up the as$ every day. People are extremely rude and unkind in Oklahoma. If you dont have what they want at the price they want, they get pissed. No one has the courtesy to say good bye on the phone, expect you to be faster even when the line is a mile long, and when there's a technical difficulty, they start to get impatient and complain. Its a ****ed up world now, and I blame most parents for not teaching their children any kind of manors or respect. IF there were better parents out there, I doubt the gang problem in OKC would be as prominent.
