i just started my freshmen year, its pretty fun, way better than high school. but its definitely more work.

This is a hard class, hours of reading, practice and repetition are required, no grade curves, exams are very difficult, etc, etc, etc. The bottom line is that if a student cannot make it in this class, they are not going to be successful in the rest of the classes in this major.
My prof for one of my classes this quarter just sent an e-mail out today that basically read those words verbatim... lol... dammit
Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..

This is a class that weeds students out of the major. I am beginning with the maximum, 40 students. I'm guessing 3 or 4 will drop after tomorrow night and by the end of the semester, we'll be down to less than 25.
I try to be very candid with them in the first class: This is a hard class, hours of reading, practice and repetition are required, no grade curves, exams are very difficult, etc, etc, etc. The bottom line is that if a student cannot make it in this class, they are not going to be successful in the rest of the classes in this major.
I've had a few classes like that. Some of the best instructors and courses I've had were the toughest. Makes some of the easy courses I'm taking seem like a joke.
I even had one instructor go so far as have people sign a "binding contract" if they were going to continue the class throughout the entire semester without dropping or missing. Those that didn't sign couldn't come in to the next class meeting.
While we're at it, I'm going into my 4th year of undergrad studies. Although I'm technically still in junior standing because I was part-time last semester. Looks like I've got another year and a half before getting my psychology and sociology degrees.

Or were you kidding around?
If it is then...That would be a hard subject. I've taken Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, all the chemistry classes from beginning to advance, and almost all of the biology classes.
I tell you I don't want to repeat any of that again. I've forgotten most of them already. I guess that's what happen when you don't need them in the working world. :(

My GF is a professor as well. She's 27, and no one ever believes she's the teacher on the first day. She will usually sit in the back of the room, and ask the students if they've heard of the professor, or the professor is such a *****, blah blah blah. lol. She loves doing that.
