Re: My last post, and some advice.
i agree with Letzride & venom, i wouldn't have given up on the car over cam/valvetrain issues. building up our v6's teaches you so much about these cars and you really learn a great deal about how to make them efficient.
when i first got mine in '03 i didn't know JACK about camaros except that i loved them. for the longest time i ran with a flowmaster catback and cai and thought it was the sweetest 6banger ever (haha i know, i know), then i got serious about modifying and picked up an ls1 to compare with and never turned back. i take pride in being the guy that ALL of my friends and even people older than me turn to for their car problems and advice, and especially fellow enthusiasts looking to make their cars better bc they know i take the time to study, learn, and appreciate these vehicles and many others.
OP- sad to hear your troubles, but man, i dont think the day will come where i just pony off my camaro and turn honda over some mishap with a shop install. good luck to you sir.pacesetters|full 3" borla exhaust|3" stainless e-cutout|slp cai & ram intake|c/f whisper lid|tbs|eibach|kyb|stb|sfc's|adj.lca's & phb|slp fan|b&m t5|180*|z06 17x9.5|8000k hids|hptuners|d/s rotors

Re: My last post, and some advice.
my friend thats on that civic forum sent me the link and we have an long conversation about it. in a nut shell, the adivce isnt much its just him rambling. if he (or his parents) had money 7-8 years ago for a 02 v6 he could have gotten a used v8. and last, he is F'ing retarded. if you notice your car making odd noises you have never heard, most likley there is a problem (note: that should be top on his list of advice). both of us dont know or read about anyone whos car has crapped out because of doing mods that have been done thousands of times.

Re: My last post, and some advice.
The only thing I agree from his entire post is the part about not letting the type of car you drive determine your social status... I have a friend who when I think about it, is only still my friend because I've known him since I was 5 yrs old... but he has a Corvette and SERIOUSLY thinks it's going to help him get girls... he's like that with everything, though, always buys the expensive clothes, shoes etc... and he thinks he's better because of it...
I think that this advice does apply to some people, and probably even some on this forum, but most of the people I've noticed on here do the things they do to their car because they enjoy it... I've been working on my Camaro for two years now without driving it during that time bc I haven't really had the time to put into it, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I regret any of it. I still enjoy working on it even if that means that I'm not getting to drive it.
He referred to cars as a means to an end, but from my perspective, the means is just as enjoyable as the end... When I bought my car it was extremely clean and bone stock and ran and looked perfect, and if I had never touched it other than routine maintenance, I never would have been able to enjoy it's true value. I still love my car even as it sits in the garage.
I would only have regrets about doing all of my mods if I did what the OP did and sell it now, before I complete everything that I've planned for it over the years...Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..
Custom interior...

I thought that too, when I was 22 and got my Camaro, and added the ground effects and all the goodies back then, not really into clothes but by the time of 25 , I didn't really care about the Camaro getting girls , but of course most of them wanted to ride in it or drive it but it got boring after awhile. Too many strippers and drinking alot got old.LOL. And after a couple of years married a girl I knew in High school and we were friends for about 4-5 years before actually dating so it was like marrying my friend and the girl I fell in love with also, thats the best thing you can find. Plus she liked my car.LOL08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: My last post, and some advice.
We'll mod'ing our cars is for some people and not for others plain and simple all wrapped in one. I know ive gotten in pretty deep doing things to my car but hey when you get out of it and you finally get your car back on the road its just another accomplished goal. If cars never broke down and are own mods we did never made our cars worse do you think we would have some of the greatest mechanic shops out there racing the nice gms they have they were all once kids throwing paychecks into there cars they just didnt give up when choice came between a tank of gas or a loaf of bread. Not gonna lie though I would never give up on my bird and buy a civic too many problems with americans now adays they are all starting to drive import because its cheaper and more fuel efficient. I would rather be broke driving around in my gm like my grandfather than running the roads with few bucks in my pocket in some compact 4 door rice burner with a fart cannon.

I've only had one girl say she wanted a ride, but it pretty much ruined it for me when she said "You should take me for a ride in your Trans Am sometime"Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..

Re: My last post, and some advice.
lol sorry to hear that man...
i once was approached by a group of 7 girls while i was shining the tires and they all requested to be driven at once---it was ridiculous let me say.
it's pretty easy to say to a lady-friend, hey, it's a nice day to have the tops out, i'm gonna take the camaro out in the mountains---lets go. works like a charm.pacesetters|full 3" borla exhaust|3" stainless e-cutout|slp cai & ram intake|c/f whisper lid|tbs|eibach|kyb|stb|sfc's|adj.lca's & phb|slp fan|b&m t5|180*|z06 17x9.5|8000k hids|hptuners|d/s rotors

Re: My last post, and some advice.
My g/f in highschool loved riding in mine and once we went off to college and I would pick her up from her dorm she said it made her friends jealous, but that's as close as I've come to that kind of satisfaction lolRebuilding the engine... Re: My last post, and some advice.
You know I have been to hell and back with my car everything from 3 Transmissions to an electrical issue and the driveshaft poping out to the fuel pump dying and the rear differental shattering on me and I honestly do not regret buying this car. Its ugly, I hate the look and the color of it. I want RS ground effects with black or blue and the car is the total opposite its Silver with a basic look.
To be honest this is my first true car that I'm paying the price to keep it. Sure its just a V6 but its the closest thing I could get to an 89 Turbo T/A or a Buick GN/T-Type with the body style I wanted. I could have bought a Z28 but why bother? Id be faster but not by much either way its still a camaro at the end of the day.
After my experience with CS-Fbodys and being the only V6 in the club I take great pride in driving my car just knowing its something different.
I have troubles with girls but I never bought this car with the intentions of getting laid or getting a G/F, thats another issue and another thread but I can tell you this much I have hung out with more women over the years since I bought the car than I have in my life time when I didn't have an Fbody.;) Everyone wants a ride or worst they wanna race.
I plan on keeping mine for awhile till I get my Lamborghini kit car project or a Fiero with a 3800 S/C swap, I have no interest in a V8 car but there is not a day that goes by that makes me think damn I wish I could have bought an LT1 T/A!. My only plans left for this car is exhaust, cold air intake, body and paint and maybe a set of rims then keeping it up on service and maintaince from there on, most of the locals I know who have beat up hondas with like 350k miles on them and not much life left in them I am always hearing about how they plan on doing an engine swap and turbos and such and i'm like Ill believe it when I see it.
This is not my dream car but it fits the job right now perfectly, I don't do any hardcore racing or anything like that but she does hold her own against everything i've played with so far and thats good enough for me. I use the car mainly on the weekends to go out with friends and possible future girlfriends but I plan on buying either a Ford Ranger or a Honda civic as a daily driver soon. Everyone hates my car in reality, my friends, my family and the locals, I'm the only who approves and will keep it and thats what matters to me.
Its not a Z28 or a T/A but I like it that way. I'm normally the only one at the car gathering who have more people asking me questions about my car and having a small crowd wondering why did I go with a V6 and let me tell you I wouldn't trade that for a V8. I have met some great people while talking about why I went with a V6 instead of an 8.
