The other's I've driven say the car is too loud for them, even with the windows closed and the A/C on. My friends like when I drive because I'm a so-called "safe" driver, but not my car. They hate the way the exhaust sounds (stock) or the rumble of my puny 4.0l (also stock). They all want me to drive their Honda's because they make no sound and they can sleep during those long drives to the middle of PA.

I've been referred to as having a mullet-mobile, when I was driving my 1985 Berlinetta-Camaro. Then I cut my hair, bought a 1998 Firebird, and was called the a**hole of the dorm because my car was so loud. I would work the night shifts. Waking people up when I pulled in after my shift. Sorry guys. Then I graduated, some Nissan Armada ran over my Firebird (some dude blew through a stop sign and over the front), and I bought a Mustang. I'm taking lots of heat for it not being a GT. I can't win.

    I say Ford's new 3.7l V8 and the proposed 5.0l V8 look very promising.

Some dude at the University who is living on the campus where I work has the new V6 Camaro. It's simply stunning. All us guys look at it. The girls on campus are all "like, you know, it's too big."
good lord your friends must be 80 years old if they think a stock firebird is too loud.

Nah, the Firebird wasn't stock. It had a full exhaust, headers, cai, etc... It had a nice rumble. :)

My Mustang is stock. I'm waiting to see what Ford comes out with in terms of the new V6 and the V8. From what I hear the Coyote 5.0 liter engine looks badass. I wouldn't mind gutting out the V6 in there now and dropping in that V8 (or for that matter, a faster more efficient 6). I don't really like the redesigned nose on the new Mustangs. However, that's just me.

Well, this is certainly interesting. To the OP, if you didn't want your car to break down, you should just ride the bus. ALL cars break down, whether they are super modded corvettes or shytbox cavaliers. Another waste, if you have a rare/super expensive/heavy modded/1ofakind car, and you get into a crash and it's totalled, should you stop modding because of that? If you total a stock corvette Zo6, doesn that mean you should have bought a Taurus or somthing? EVERYTHING cost money, and if you don't want to mod I don't really think anyone here really cares. As others have said, do it or don't. And as for girls, I have been with the same beautiful woman since I bought my first camaro so I know nothing about that. I just do it for me.

              i'm truly stunned...

my 'maro is flashy, loud, and has that "look-at-me" quality to her---i absolutely love it, and even though it's not for everyone, it's certainly for me.

i'm sure my neighbors dont love hearing me getting on it down the road, but i take pride in the fact that the 3rd story windows and floor rattle while she's idling in the garage below---music to my ears.

i mod for the love of modding and learning, and the friends/girls are just part of the deal. like i said, i think my upfront attitude about my car and how i treat it really commands how people respond to her.

but also, i probly have the most unique camaro in my area hands down (sw va doesnt have a big car scene really). no one else has one close to her, so she turns heads and gets people interested bc they've never seen a camaro with mods like mine. either way, it gets ppl talking.

and i probly have never heard of her referred to as a "mullet-mobile" or any redneck slander bc i'm a 6'6 230lb guy that looks like The Rock lol---comes in handy. i'm not ur typical camaro driver or enthusiast.

                ^ humble aren't we? lol.

whoever drives their f-body for anyone else but themselves needs to be shot. i'm not saying that others shouldn't like it, that's dumb. but you shouldn't drive a car just because you think it's gonna get you somewhere, aka with the ladies.

                    1. If you need a car to get women to look or notice you, you're a sap. Either take Extenze, or some confidence. I have a POS Monte Carlo; many of stripper have seen the passenger seat, and no woman outside of a relationship has cost me any money whatsoever.

                    2. If you don't have the money to mod, don't do it. I haven't added a mod to the Firebird in three years. I don't have the money.

                    3. Don't mod your DD. You're an idiot if you do.

                    4. Don't chew tobacco, starts to hurt your throat real bad, as if you have acid reflux 24/7.

You've been dipping mint/wintergreen, eh? It does that. If those are the flavors you like, venture away from skoal. Feel free to hit me up for suggestions.
