ok it can be made to work with training... and yes feed them separately
as for the "wont back down attitude".... your dog was bred off of a bulldog, so it is in his nature, just keep am eye on them when they play together
i have a boston terrier (also bred from bulldogs), and she is sweet as can be, but when u get her riled up, she isnt about to let u win (although u will cuz she is 25lbs)
