You have to spend money to make money. Any business owner will tell you that.
    where did that come from?

im saying not to spend trillions on economic packages that nobody has read, and to to stop bailing out big business, as all big business put together only employs 3% of americans.

ya know what would be a great "economic stimulus plan"? give the $$$ back to the tx paying people, and let us spend/save it as we see fit.

      that will NEVER happen.

I haven't heard of a new bailout in a couple months now, not a direct bailout anyway. But again, bailing out a company like GM or Chrysler is needed because they produce a large chunk of GDP. Even though their sales are down, to let them fail (on top of letting some financial institutions fail) would have sank us into a deeper recession, possibly a full blown depression. Im not saying the recession is over, but I think its starting to flatten out, I think the worst of it is behind us, its just going to be a slow recovery. Either way, you still have to spend this money. You're not going to get around it, and it would be helpful, again, seeing how the infrastructure itself is in dire need of revamping and retrofit.

3%? Where did you get that figure? I could name 10 large corps and back up that they employ at least 10% of the entire population, not just workforce. ****, Walmart probably employes 1% all on their own.

Ummm, W. did that in 08, worked out real well. What did you do with your $600? A lot of people saved it or paid down debt, which did nothing to stimulate the economy.

GM still failed... and have you ever heard of the 1916 recession? probably not because those in office left **** alone and the economy righted itself... unlike the '30's where FDR tried to "spend" our way out of it just like W and Obama... remember the billions they spent that was supposed to keep unemployment under 8% well now it's at 9.7% last time I checked... Biden recently said that the stimulus saved 500,000-1,000,000 jobs... first of all, there's absolutely no way to gauge that so he just made up that number, and second, even if that is true, that's at a cost of at least $787,000 per job... you can't spend your way out of a recession and to believe that Obama AND BUSH have done that speaks solely to your intelligence...

When people say stop spending money, that doesn't mean stop spending, it means put a freeze on fed spending... no new bs programs... no more government takeovers... and the argument that "everyone else has done it" when referring to fed debt is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, but is also a typical lefty argument, the same people who complained about Bush's debt spending are now defending Obama's... I thought Obama ran his campaign on everything but politics as usual... a great way to make a legacy would be if he was the first one to actually do something about our debt PROBLEM...

Re: What I learned while visiting Washington DC, Part 2

The national debt doesn't bother me, never has. Again, every country in the modern world has debt on some level or another, and owes another country this or that. And it isn't how much W. spent, its what he spent it on. If you told the lemmings in this country to pay taxes to support defense, these idiots would line up rank and file and throw money at the gov't, for the sole purpose of the illusion of safety. Id rather the gov't spend the money on something to help its citizens, not another war we can't win.

And this DEFINITELY isn't the time to sit around and wait for the economy to "right" itself. THATS the dumbest thing I have heard. How can you just sit there and wait for it to get better? Its like waiting for a malignant tumor to just go away. But if its a typical lefty arguement to act and do something, compared to the righty argument of just sitting here and hoping it all gets better, well, Im not stupid, if something can be done, then do it. Dumbest thing in the world is to sit there with your thumb up your *** and do nothing. That **** might have flown almost 100 years ago, when we were still isolationists, but it isn't going to fly now with our biggest hand in the global economy.

Its not like ALL income, sales, and whatever other taxes can go directly to the debt. You cant just stop govt spending to pay off that debt, its never going to happen. All that debt does is lengthen the time a lender gets their money back. You all really need to get over the hype that they tell you about the national debt, and stop looking at that clock.

You would, thats twice now he has attempted to bail you out. ATTEMPTED.

BTW, Im not getting into another debate about gov't spending and jobs. Anyone attempting to talk about it will find their post deleted. Stick to the subject....its about wind energy. Positive or negative comments about WIND ENERGY.....
