1980 Turbo V6 Monte

I suppose this is the place for this thread :cool:

So we have this old 1980 turbo monte with a 3.8 90 degree V6 in it. The body is rusted ouy pretty much and it's been sitting for a few years. Does anybody know anything about these? It seems like it could be a decently quick engine with the right parts and such. It's carb'd btw. We haven't looked at it too closely, but after we get out winter truck running this could be a project to get the motor and tranny pulled and take a look at er.

I've thought about that! haha. I haven't really looked at the turbo on the monte yet. Either way it should be cool.

looks like the same setup as the turbo t/a's of the early 80's,...... and I thought my 87 regal w/the 307 had pant loads of vacuum lines on it :omg:

You got a serious project on your hands there. I've seen them in the streets before. If you could build up it to its glory days you would have a nice ride.

unfortunately, the frame is rusted on the monte, so the motor will need a new body. gonna pull the motor over the winter before i go into buying stuff for it.
