Yeah the S80s have a lot of issues. They used a GM transmission that blew. S60s (06-07) have shown to be very reliable.

The Accords... one was gotten for my sister, but shes been living out of the country for a while.

I didn't get the Volvo for excitement really. I needed something professional (conservative...), practical, and reliable. The Hondas are just too bland. I was looking at Audis first. Unfortunately 1. I don't have the money for repairs, and 2. I wanted to pay CASH, but didn't want to spend over $20k. Not many great Audis with low miles for that price.

The Volvo is fun to drive (more than the Hondas at least), looks good, is very comfortable, and I'm pleased with the deal.

yeah man id have to agree, a volvo beats the pants off of a cookie cutter honda any day, and as much as i hate her car i do like the company. a volvo is all she has ever driven and they have all been good untill this one.
so i reckon you made a good decision.

Ah. I thought that was new vs. old accord. Volvo is certainly a step up, they seem to be pretty nice cars. Nice pick :tup:

I actually did a lot of research into these things. I'm still on break, so its basically all I've been doing. We used to have a Volvo way back when, but then switched over to Audis and BMWs. They were amazing cars, especially seeing as we had drivers that took care of all of the maintenance and whatnot. I am not in a position right now to be sending an Audi or BMW into the shop twice a month.


My Arab negotiating skills also got the price down to $2,000+ less than what the dealer was asking. Picking it up tomorrow morning.

Yeah, its an interesting shape. All of the reviews I have read basically say that it is hideous. They say its bland and unexciting. I'm really liking it though.

One positive review I read said that it looks like a charging hockey player, haha.

I had never considered a Volvo before. After test driving one, I was hooked.
