Bike mileage count

Just rolled 5K on the cluster.... also picked another ticket :doh:

I'm going to make 2 piles... Pile #1 (from prejutise (sp) cops that don't ride) and #2 Tickets that I deserve.

So far... pile 1 is winning!

My bike, when back on road, should have about 3k~3.2k. Not too bad for a 76.

So what did you get a ticket for this time? I know the ticket pile thing most cops up here are pretty cool about bikes as long as your legal so I deserve more tickets than I get on bikes but in my Jimmy it just says pull me over. They don't harass me in the firebird or bike really but for some reason they love my Jimmy so I can relate to you on that one.

No... here in this part of the country, they PREFER Harley's and give them preferred treatment. If you ride a "crotch rocket" you are ASKING for a ticket just by owning one.

So... Memorial Sunday, 4 of us that ride together want to get a nice country cruise in.... get the GPS plotted out. 70 mile run.. 2 lane twisty blacktop in the middle of BFE. About 20 minutes into it, we go through a 1 stoplight town. On the way out, we have to cross tracks, just before that is a stop sign. As we all do on bikes, we rolled up slowly, looked both ways and crossed. After the 4th bike clears the sign, here comes the country cop... just finished his donut. Got me (being the 3rd in the line) and last rider.... 1 and 2 didn't even see the lights. But knew something was wrong when they didn't see me. They stopped about a mile up the road.

We pull over.. get the paper work out... pull the helmets. Cops says "do you know why you were pulled over?"... "no"... "you have to put BOTH feet down to be a LEGAL stop".

I was like WTF!?!?! How many harley's did we see that day do the same thing as us!! Mind you, we were NOT speeding, not screwing around, and we are ALL over 30 years of age!! Not kids pulling wheelies.

So.. being the prick that he was... wrote both of us the ticket... want to write us up for NOT signing our registration (yes, that is a ticket in this state) and proceeded to tell us that it's a busy weekend for cops and our friends were lucky.

DUH.. it's busy cause your stopping us for BS reasons! Your not a RIDER and have NO clue what it means to be on a bike. So now.. this is a 3 point ticket... added to the 4 point that I'm still waiting to fight. 12 points and you lose your license. So... again.. going to fight it. Get it knocked down to a non moving violation and just give the county LEOs more money for there little pissy town.. so they can add a new donut shop!! [img]graemlins/rant.gif[/img]

Take into court the fact of a trike can sit @ a stop sign for an hour without putting there feet down is that still running the stop sign? There considered motorcycles too. Or as far as that goes I rarely put my right foot down cause I use it to hold the brake. So I hear you on not putting your foot down I would definetly fight that one cause that is total bull****.
