This might be late... but I'll put it out there anyways.

Do you have any riding experience? Look over the bike, does it run? does it have problems? What is the purpose of you getting this... a speed demon? or just to ride and enjoy?

Depending on those answers, you might look into that one for a short bit.... or move onto something like an EX500 or GS500, etc.

I think you'll find yourself wanting to move up very quickly, even if you are a straight up new rider. As Teal said, a 500 will last a bit longer for you. You'll "outgrow" the 250 in short order.

My parents really just want to make me a primary on the bike.. I heard that it will lower my insurance if I primary myself on a bike.. Is that true?? Because of my tickets, I need special insurance. They dont even really want me riding, but they'll grow out of that real quick..

A 500 enough for the average rider. For people wanting a true sport bike the 600 will do and leave room for mods to let it keep up with a 1000. A 1000... well you better have you will drawn up because its too much power to resist. I'm getting an old 750 in the next coupld of weeks for a cheap fun ride, i cant wait.
