Allright this was my first bike I was learning to ride on since I was 15. It's a 79 and has 9k miles on it. I moved up to a R6 (though I sold it recently). One of my dad's freinds put in new valves in it because one was warped, and ever since I can't get the pos to start. I paid for the parts ($160 with everything, pretty cheap) but he told me to pay him once I get it running.
Now the thing is it has good compression, it has spark, and it's getting fuel but the damn thing refuses to work. I'm thinking it must not be getting the spark at the same time. When I kick it it will pop a second after. Does that mean the ignition is too advanced? I tried switching the wires (it's a 360 degree twin) but still nothing. He says he marked it and put it back together like it was, what could he have done wrong to cause this?
I want to sell this bike to get some cash, but I don't see anyone buying it if it's not running. I have a receit for the parts. What would be the best way to get rid of it and get maybe 300-400 bucks back? I really hope I don't have to pull the motor out again, because it's a pain in the a$$.
