just beat a modified G35 sports coupe in philly last night and i just got home from dorney park and on the way home pulled up next to an 01 cobra SVT.. lost to him in 1st because of tire spin but once i hit 4500 rpms in 2nd i was pullin past him up to 80 where we ran into traffic.. i had 2 passengers vs. just him in his car he gave me and my girlfriend a wave after the race.. my car is running mid to high 13s and it gets 24-30 mpg.. how can you beat that?? for me.. you can't which is why its my dream car
another thing that great about it is the stages offered.. if i invest another $399(stage one ECU) in my car it will be running mid to low 13s
i am going down to the track soon, i will be sure to post up the times when i get back
heh, not me.
throw a snail on even a lowly 3.4, and the neon is toast.
said it before, and I'll say it again.... 4-dr "sports" coupe = rush-the-family-to-church ride.
An SRT-4 is hands down a better car than a 3.4 Fbody, in almost every aspect except for your obviously biased aesthetic appeal.
You can't just "throw a snail" on a 3.4L, or any non-turbo car for that matter. On the other hand, you CAN just "throw on" many upgrades for the SRT-4 that will put it in the 12's as a reliable daily driver.
How many reliable daily drivers do we have here in the 12's?
I can count them all on one hand... And not one of them is a 3.4L.

ROFL This is funny, the SRT-4 along with all of Dodge's new line of cars, besides cars like the Viper, are built like crap. They produce good power no doubt, but the motors simply fall apart on themselves. I know 4 guys around my place that own SRT-4s, I agree its a fast lil car. But like they said they are getting around 60k miles on them, and are saying its being the biggest pile of **** they have ever owned! Two guys are nearing the 80k mark and have both rebuilt their turbos and engines already. A friend of mine has gone through 3 Intrepids in the last 6 years. They just fall apart, head gaskets, and piston rings. And I have a few friends that work at the dealerships that will openly admit the same things. Being they know how many come in at what for what.
Now if you don't mind the work and don't drive it that much cool, it works. But if you want something you can still drive daily for years to come, not a chance.
And just so we all have this straight my motor has not been rebuilt yet ever, no gasket changes, no rings. I burn no oil, I get 32mpg, after 5k miles my oil is clean and nice and pretty, my transmission shifts perfectly, my compression is great, and I'm almost to 150k miles, and I pound the piss out of my 3.4

But beyond my rant, sharp car man what else do you have planned for it?

80k miles on an FI car is DUE TIME for a turbo rebuild, if not some motor work.
I've never had any SERIOUS engine damage occur to my car, but I have had MANY MANY MANY other things on it go wrong.
You're pounding the crap out of a car that was designed to have closer to 300HP. You're only putting it to maybe half of its potentional, on a motor that wasn't designed for performance. I wouldn't expect you to have many repair problems.
As for the rest of Dodge/Chrysler products, I can't vouch for anything. However, I do think its a bit ridiculous that most people on this board think they can just "slap" a turbo on their car and have it out-perform most anything else.
I didn't literally mean "just slap on a turbo"; obviously some other mods should be done (i.e. forged pistons and heads, maybe an alternate intake plenum)
but to put it quite simply, a turboed 6 > turboed 4
its still a god damn NEON. PERIOD....now round up your family and get your *** to church
side note: you want a god damn cookie since your car can beat my car????? welcome to the club, alot of cars are faster than mine, but im not here to get to crazy into modifying my v6, i'll save that for the z.........back to top, its still a god damn 4 door family car aka NEON ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
