    Hey guys,

Well Monday I drove off the GMC lot the new owner of an '06 GMC Canyon and a hell of a lot of debt :naughty:

0% Financing is nice, I was ready for a new vehicle and this time around I started having feelings for trucks so I jumped on this. I always dreamed of having a crew cab truck so I took it the next level up and went for that model. Went without the 4x4 though, too much for insurance and I couldn't see myself actually using it enough to justify the extra cost.

It has the upper-level option package so it has a lot of nice options. XM Radio, power locks and windows, bucket seats up front with a center console and a split bench in the back. The factory CD player does MP3 cds which excited me a lot too.

It's got the 3.5 I5 engine with the A4 tranny. I decided to switch it up this time and have it a little more comfortable than sporty. And I might add that it can move it's *** out of the way a lot better than I had thought it would with a 3.5 5cyl. They're rated for 220, not sure if that's at the crank or wheel, but they're not slow.

Anyways that became long, sorry to bore you all. Pics:

Couple shots of it at home in the driveway before I bought it

At home after they detailed it and I bought it:

I'll get some more (hopefully better) pics later and keep you guys updated on mods. Right now trying to get in a group buy for a spray-in bedliner.
The bird will be sold as soon as it stops raining long enough for me to clean it. I'll miss it : (

Those are nice trucks my uncle has the same thing except its red, I drove it for 2 weeks when I stayed at his house, they have some power for not being any bigger than they are. Good luck with it.

I love it. It rained real bad last night and I had to go down a 2 mile dirt road. Got it a little muddy and almost got stuck in one spot but the auto locking diff saved me :) 2 small holes and 8-10 feet later I was good.

I like it man. My neighbor has one and its a decent truck. I want a small size 4x4 truck bad. See, I can definitley justify using it though because we made trails throughout this town from our trucks :p. I can't deal with the gas mileage though considering I drive a minimum of 70 miles highway a day. I'd love to pick one up for the winters but it looks like I'll be buying a car just out of pure practicality :(.

0% Financing? Tell me more... :p

I've put on about 1100 miles in almost 4 weeks of driving it and have been getting about 19 mpg average with about 60% city 40% highway drive. And that's with my heavy foot and the AC cranked (hot as hell here).

My firebird got about the same mileage with the 5 spd and I drove it even faster.

The weekend I bought it was when GM was doing their 5 day 0% apr promo. And the dealer I went to my family has been to for 9 cars now. They sold it to me under invoice :naughty:

Nice truck!! I almost bought a Colorado Extreme last summer. Something made me back out at the last minute, though. That I5 is a nice motor. One of the things I didn't like was the lack of discounts on the vehicle last year, and it's poor warranty compared to the Isuzu version of the same truck. But, I don't want to sit behind the wheel of an Isuzu. Ever.

The Crew-Cab was the right choice. The extended cab is just not comfortable with it's poor back seat.

I drove the I5 and the I4 before I bought my Colorado....I couldn't tell a huge difference in the power...there was some but not enough for the $3,000 option or what ever it was. I went with the I4 instead. I've got 40,700 miles on it now and I've never had a problem with it except a 02 sensor went out on it about 32k miles, but that was covered under warranty. I mainly drive the firebird around town to keep the miles off the truck...but when ever I go on a road trip the truck and the bike are with me.

My friend owns a Colorado. if I remember correctly, it's an I5, too. I never did test drive the 4, though. Glad to hear it's peppy enough for the job. Cool.

The only time I really notice the truck lacking a lot of power is when I'm up in the mountains and have the R1 (my bike) in the bed of the truck. Especially going thru west virginia.

For me, those seats are just amazingly comfortable. And, at the right height. I still plan on getting one someday. It's styling has it all over the last iteration of the S-10s.

Yeah, it seems to do pretty well around town. I took it on its first road trip last weekend and it got around pretty nicely. Was getting killer gas mileage until I hit the mountains. And once I got to where I was going I had still averaged 24.9mpg

I think the Firebird seats are more comfortable but the truck seats still beat the hell out of a lot of other cars I've been in. And I definitely agree with the styling comment.
